All being well it looks like we could need 3 or even 4 groups, I'm happy to act as leader to one if required.

Hi Cameraman,
I don’t know if it has been mentioned before, But what would you class it as, as far as the toughness of the routes for those that may think it will be to hard for them (With shiny`s) or would you say it was too rough for them?.

Another quick one, i was asked if it will start and finish at the same place as members could come and jump in with someone else and be dropped of back at their vehicles.

Regards. Mav.

No u still got me who is it? i was only checking lol im one of those people that needs to just make sure lol

Mike

cant wait :p

Most of the route is suitable for shineys, the roughest part of the route I have done in my nice clean shiny Mav 7" ground clearance I have also reversed down it in the dark (in the patrol) to enable a recovery. This is not to say it is all easy peasy. This route was planned before my patrol was up and running so is suitable for my new Mav with me driving.

However, I cannot guarantee that the route is suitable for all as this would leave me open to court action should someone feel that way and find a section impassable.

Some parts of the route are unknown to me, but based on reading the map and write ups I have seen "should" be Ok, but as in all off road situations conditions can change from day to day and hour to hour. Bearing in mind the weather we are experiencing, it is bound to be wet and muddy.

All drivers should exercise care and judgement before venturing off road.

It is the responsibility of the driver of each vehicle to ensure the vehicle has a current MOT, is roadworthy, has the minimum insurance requirement and is taxed. Good tyres are a must, ATs would be better, but racing slicks are a definite no no.

In any group the lead vehicle, unless specifically agreed in writing, assumes no reponsibility for the route taken by subsequent vehicles or the status of the road. That remains the responsibility of each driver.

The start and finish points are only about 10 mins apart, I planned it this way in case people wanted a look at Stanage for another time. The whole route never goes more than about 20 mins by road back to the start in case we run out of time or someone decides not to complete a section or wishes to quit early.

i may see you all there then i will try and confim or not ASAP !!!

Just catching up with this thread as I can't read it on my PC at home :?:

Cadmonkey has used some of the RoW's in this area on a previous run, and they are good to drive, I guess in support of Cameraman's earlier comments it isn't possible to describe any greenlaning as none damaging, my T2 seems to attract scratches from branches etc along its sides when laning, much more so than when using fun day sites for some reason.

So it is really driver beware, and if you really are not sure if your vehicle & driving skills are up to a certain section, then don't do it - you probably won't be on your own if you take the bodywork TLC route!!

The only one to watch out for is Leg 2 Pindale, theres a sharp twister.crossaxler combined with a drop at the start, see pics of us last month. It shouldnt be a problem as long as care is taken.

Yep, know it well, in fact JimsTerrano has used some pics of his LWB Terrano negotiating the start of Pindale as his avatar for a while.

When I used to mountain bike a lot we used to refer to Pindale as Pinballdale, because it used to feel like you were boucing from side to side along the upper sections. All good stuff, but a pain riding up it on an MTB.

oh have we got a story about tht lol all will be revealed on the day lol
