For those thinking of carring out mods I have put a reply in here:

Greater ground clearance can be had, but please remember that you will get more rock and roll when normal driving and you roll over rate is increased slightly.
The first serious mod you should all consider are strong front and rear recovery points. The mods you will find out that are essential are rarely the sexy mods that you can see, like huge tyres and lifts, whinches etc, but the mods made on the grounds of saftey.
A CB is also a very worthwhile accessory to add and fancy ones are just not needed as comms are rarely needed above 1 mile max. Very often just yards is all needed.
A second bit of kit to have is a strong recovery strop. Rated at least 5 tons or more. Don't even consider a tow rope they are far less than useless unless trebeled or more and then trebeled again and trebeled in length
Try a lorry ratchet strap with the metal ends removed, these are cheap enough  strong enough and long enough. I usually carry at least 3 of them to cover everthing. Friends of mine have strops rated up to 17 tons or more. Think of the pressure to overcome moving a stuck 2 ton vehicle from mud 8O Imagine the horriffic backlash if a rope or low rated strop broke. If you have a strong stomach search U tube for vids of this
Shackles are also another usefull bit of kit. Picked up for around £3 - £4 each or more for test rated ones. I have them test rated to 7.5 tons.
I could go on with a kit list for you all, but common sense tells you things like a small spade, first aid kit etc.
Perhaps we should start a new thread with things you should carry in general??
