I've done the whole route in reverse, Bull Tor in the wet is quite "hairy" I had to use difflocks at the steepest bit.
Thats why I reveresed some of the route this time round, Shatton and Pindale to give us a differant challenge, which I think worked well.
Alot of the lanes as you know I missed out as they are flat and easy in any direction(but have magnificant scenery). These will be put in again in Nov to try and attract more attendance as many people either don't want the heavy challenge, the vehicles are not capable or they are not prepared to suffer even minor scratches. Which I can fully understand and is why i run two 4x4s!!
I'm currently looking at some new routes that will need pre driving first. I was intending to drive them last night with Doodles as a recce, but finishing late as we did it was impractical. New undriven routes in the dark could be a disaster.
I have pre driven some, and will link them with others in a matter of time. As you know I popped in a couple of new sections yesterday, and will keep dropping new bits in mainly to the more experianced groups to see how they fare with them first before taking others over.
The route in the lakes looks good, reading the write up I can't work out if they're trying to scare people away by making it sound hard or just being carefull. Six hours for 3ks says something though, it must be tough. Maybe once I have a towbar on the Disco I might make a weekend of it, but at present coming off nights it would be too much for me.
