What CB channel are we using? If nothings posted before I set off, about 8am, I'll have mine set to UK30 on the way down.

Kitchen rebuild needs finishing I'm afraid, away next weekend and if it doesn't get done this weekend it won't get done for a few weeks.

Had a fantastic day, few minor problems getting over Stanage, but rest of lanes Ok. Took in all the difficult ones too. Finished in the dark.

Will post links to pictures later, and then up load to gallery later.

I'm glad you had a good day  Are the hollows around the rocks getting deeper

No I think the rocks are growing in the rain we had -rotfl- I got caught up twice I think, once on the prop and once on the "something that sounded unpleasant underneath, but I couldn't be bothered to look" Little more difficult than last time over but still managed without needing waffles etc.

Hummingbird was so quick over I barely managed to focus the camera. Which shows what a lifted Mav can do.

Sounds like yorkshire...lol soon as HB was on the road he was off   hope you all had a great time, hopefully get down to do this swanage next year sometime..

Stanage changes from week to week, this week was worse than last time over, plus made worse by having to winch pajeros back and forwrd to get them up. Managed to smash Dooldes waffles beyond repair and I got to use my Hi lift jack too.

But, I'll tell you what is really good too, Pindale from the bottom upwards. Did it last week on our own (me and Lucy) and this week took all up

They'll be easy to sort again, but need to find a way of protecting them more.

Thanks for another great day down there, a few more interesting lanes and some I've done a couple of times before. Can we do that southerly loop the other way sometime?Peak pasture first and black harry last, especially Bull Tor, that descent would become a climb (obviously), which would be different.

OK so thats Stanage done - WHATS NEXT ??????

Actually I know, I'd like to go up to the lakes and do Gatescarth Pass - NY4610-8a.

From Wayfinder
This lane is subject to a permit system allowing a limited number of vehicles each month. Permits are available from the National Park. It is a high fell route with severe gradients & extremly tight hairpin bends. SWB recommended. Skilled driving required to minimise disturbance to track surface.

More info HERE

I've done the whole route in reverse, Bull Tor in the wet is quite "hairy" I had to use difflocks at the steepest bit.

Thats why I reveresed some of the route this time round, Shatton and Pindale to give us a differant challenge, which I think worked well.

Alot of the lanes as you know I missed out as they are flat and easy in any direction(but have magnificant scenery). These will be put in again in Nov to try and attract more attendance as many people either don't want the heavy challenge, the vehicles are not capable or they are not prepared to suffer even minor scratches. Which I can fully understand and is why i run two 4x4s!!

I'm currently looking at some new routes that will need pre driving first. I was intending to drive them last night with Doodles as a recce, but finishing late as we did it was impractical. New undriven routes in the dark could be a disaster.

I have pre driven some, and will link them with others in a matter of time. As you know I popped in a couple of new sections yesterday, and will keep dropping new bits in mainly to the more experianced groups to see how they fare with them first before taking others over.

The route in the lakes looks good, reading the write up I can't work out if they're trying to scare people away by making it sound hard or just being carefull. Six hours for 3ks says something though, it must be tough. Maybe once I have a towbar on the Disco I might make a weekend of it, but at present coming off nights it would be too much for me.

Looks like it was fun, shame I missed it but importantly the kitchen got finished!!! This even included taking the old stuff to the dump as well!

The downside is I still need to redecorate the kitchen/dining room, and put the laminate floor down. Deadline is needs doing before Xmas but hope to be able to get out on the next day in November.

I think there is now a restriction to vehicles of 100ins wheelbase or less - so that let's me out. :(
