A tiny bit of progress today after work, took the metal reinforcement out of front bumper and chopped the middle of it out to make room for the mount and winch, trimmed some odd bits off round the body mounts and gave some bits a coat of vactan (like fertan I think) which is why the chassis looks black...

Awesome Doug, that's looking the business now, lovely work.

Does it affect how latch works though?, struggled a bit to open it like it is one time, however I did have a stroppy seven year old pulling bonnet release half assed :doh, I will "investigate" it tomorrow (hammer), if it doesn't do owt it's outta there :D:thumb2

So many cool things to do, I wonder if a hilift jack mounted accross front of bonnet would be dangerous in an accident, to the occupants that is :D

Options here T-Doug. Move the release handle to somewhere on the front, secret like:naughty or fit a bonnet catch like some fords have where you flip the badge and use a key :nenau
High lift jack would be better on the back I reckon:thumbs

Yeah I'd always go for the rear for a high lift, those things are like missiles in a crash and can cause some serious damage, mine scared me so I got rid of it and only being able to use it with the wheelmate was a bit rubbish as there's no jacking points for them on the Terrano

Right the jack is not going on the front then, I was 50/50 but you guys have sorted me. I like the idea of a secret release catch, if I can't get standard to work I reckon thats the way forward :thumbs

Yeh leave it off the front bud.

Mine's going on the roof bars once I fit them, I've got a set of mounts all ready.

Oohh, what mounts you got mate?? :D

Picked up an unused set on the cheap off ebay, pretty straightforward, bolt to rack etc then wing nuts to secure the jack. Got a neoprene cover on the jack mechanism already.

They're at the farm but I'm going there later so will get you a pick.

Nice one, cheers fella :)

I made brackets to hold mine on the back door. Dont like stuff on the roof, those trees you know, theyre robbing sods :lol
