Good news, nothing like driving your truck after a break without it.

What’s this shift kit?

Good to see you back up and running:thumb2
ATF cooler next on the list??

You remove the valve body and replace some of its internals with up-specced components, relacement springs and seals etc (I believe there are one or two bits for the rest of the transmission but I understand the valve body is the key part if not stripping the box down).

Result is increased fluid pressure which stops clutch slippage and therefore heat buildup. As there's less slipping it helps stop clutch burnup (especially 3rd gear which is what happened to me).

What have I noticed? Nicer sharper changes in gear, also she seems to shift up far sooner, presumably as the increased pressure allows her to transfer the power better. I liked the auto driveability before, love it now! :thumbs

So there's been some new mods of late.

First up there's no pics but I got a Class 2 Immobiliser fitted. Apart from the security benefit, it's given me much more choice for insurance :thumb2

That's a worthwhile mod if ever there was one :thumb2

Next up, I got my trans cooler fitted :D

Bumper unbolted and slid forward to give some space to remove the grill.

Picked up a couple of these struts from B&Q, figured they'd be useful

Decided to save some work and drill some holes in this strut to bolt up one side of the cooler

Fitted and tested - no leaks! Put at least one layer of rubber belt between all bolted faces.

Yes that's good Rob.
Can I ask where you got the oil cooler from?
I need to do this too

Sweet as, was it hard to get the oil lines there?

Turned out pretty simple bud - there's two hard lines come down the left side of the gearbox and change to rubber pipe for joining to the cooler in the radiator.

I bought 2m of spare rubber pipe, reconnected the exit pipe for the radiator cooler to the bottom of the trans cooler and put a new length from the cooler exit at the top to the return hard line :thumb2

Radiator cooler is empty when the pumps not running so there was only a few drops of atf when I undid the existing pipe.

Fluid goes through the radiator first then into the new cooler, then back to the autobox.

Merlin Motorsport Ian. This is the one I went for, the biggest PWR one I could get.

Aussies rate PWR coolers and the bonus is their newest ones are slimline (only 19mm thick) so easy to find space for and leaves plenty space for a fan... I'm planning to fit one shortly, probably a puller behind the cooler so it leaves the front unobstructed.I'll have it rigged to turn on when the ignition is on with a master switch to turn it off if I'm not running but want the stereo on.

:lol I reckon that will keep it cool mate, belt and braces that is :clap:thumb2

Had a check of the cooler yesterday after a run to the farm, could barely keep my fingers on the top of it there was so much heat coming through it, like a hot radiator  Definitely a worthwhile mod, just need to try and find a fan thin enough to fit behind, either that or it looks like I'll be cutting a section out the grill to fit one in front...
