Thanks Jim, I'm getting a lot of inspiration from your project thread :bow....I'm going to steal your idea for supporting the rads :D

I got fed up earlier then it started to rain so I gave it up for today.

Bravo mate!!!!! This is this kind stuff that keeps me logging in every day :bow :thumb2

Can't wait to see the end result, I hope you're knocking up a kit to sell me!!!!!
Extra if you weld me up too :naughty I'm yet to weld anywhere near that kind of standard yet, that's impressive skills mate for someone who has never welded before

Cheers man, I got four of those brackets made :thumbs, I'm gonna build support for rads next then maybe put a mounting plate in for a winch, sills need doing first really then I can send it for MOT. I need to buy a winch before I put a plate in i think.

Is this going to be hidden like BonesXU1?

As much as possible, I'm leaving the air-con rad in, I'll see what space there is when bumper is back on, as it is I can put a plate higher/lower or whatever it needs dictated by whatever winch I get :duno:

Looking forward to seeing this take shape T-Doug :thumb2

Me too :lol, working down south next week, Cambridgeshire mon+tues dunno where rest of week. Got a bit disheartened with it yesterday so hopefully will be more enthusiastic after a week away :D I might cut a section of sill out this weekend though to see what I have to work with, I can think up crazy ideas for a week then :naughty

If you go near a body mounting with your cuts make some wedges and wooden blocks to place between the body and chassis. Once it starts getting weakened it soon sags if you're not careful.

Cheers Jim!! As far as I know the inner sills are solid so hopefully should keep things rigid.

I've found a guy in Pontefract that will make me some sills, he says to bend a piece of wire to the desired profile and he will bend a strip of sheet to match!!

Are you buying bottles or renting one.
Take a butcher's at this. You might find someone local to you who does it.

Cheers man :D:thumb2 I'm using this stuff, I own the bottle and I think it is 33-35 squid to fill
http://www.hobbyweld.co.uk/products/

33 squids to fill the bottle I use, 93% argon, 5%co2 and 2%o2. They don't refill them, they just give me a full onecand send the empty back to hobbyweld.

Good heavens that is cheap, I have a similar bottle from BOC and a refill/excange is £70 odd plus a yearly rental, Just got a new bottle (a promotional one for free) but when it runs out I will go your route, Rick

Yeh that's a much bigger bottle, but if you don't use a great deal of gas in a year pointless I suppose. The lady who I get mine from deals the boc ones too and says they care more about the rental charges so that tells you something.

Plus the one I get is much lighter and easier to transport :D, Jimsterrano put me onto them, he uses the same stuff.

A mate just gave me these :D

Tie down points for Manitou machines and other machines, they are solid so I reckon I might try and fit a couple on the truck
