I need some brackets for side steps if your breaking it and will split them, the gayer the better :D

Lol. I nearly took mine off but couldn't do it!
I like em. If I do take them off, I'll get them chromed and put them back on :lol

I'll watch out for that Rick, it turned out that my casting was slightly larger than most and as a result I have gone for 45mm spacers

Mmmm be careful, plot two points 3ft apart with say 4 inch bars pointing forward, and scribe their arcs, now move one 45mm away from the other and plot the arcs again, can you see how the one moved starts at a much less distance from it's pivot point, as the drag link has not been extended by 45mm this directly affects tracking, sure you can sort it straight ahead, but left turns you will have different tracking to right turns, this could have a detrimental effect on tyre wear especially with 33's, Rick

I took mine off before they dropped off :doh, but I want to put them back on, the boy struggles as is to get in, when I renew the suspension he won't be a happy chappie :lol

I'm trying to find an anodizer that does electric pink :p, to match my nails n lippy :lol

Super strong

Chopped the box up last night as per makeitfit's pictures :bow :bow

Was scary making the first cuts so I made sure I didn't go too deep as I want to tidy it up and get the surface perfect and level before I do what Elty did and pop rivet a plate on it, then it's going to be painted all black :naughty

I'm still debating how to fill it and when it is full how can I drain and refill easily.

Proper job Zac.
Is there room on top to drill and tap a hole big enough to be able to suck the fluid out using the pumps people on here are trying. Its not going to be a weekly job is it?

Thanks Mate :thumb2

I've decided against pop riveting the plate on, I'm going to go a bit more fancy.

I've purchased a length of sheet metal and decided that I'm going to use a thick rubber gasket and going to drill, tap and bolt into the metal :naughty

I don't want to remove the top as I'm going to try and make that area as liquid tight as possible, having to chop off two of the bolt holes so everything was flush pained me a little but def needed to be done so it could be flush.

I may drill into the top cap through the side if that makes sense and use that as another anchor point, then 2 more in the bottom too :naughty

Still pondering on fill and drain points though :nenau

My recent boxes have bolted on plates. There's not a lot of room for them so carefully mark out and centre punch the start points ;)

Maybe drill and tap for an m10 bolt at bottom and a grease nipple at top, undo bolt and pump grease in, new grease in old grease out :nenau

Nice points boys :thumb2 I like the idea of the grease nipples but want to use proper PS fluid so maybe some small bolts one top one bottom :naughty

SS PanzerSteering

Did a little more work last night after work and had the intentions of finishing it but after a Nandos takeaway and a massive glass of Nesquick I knew I wasn't moving from the living room especially with a new season of Southland to watch.

Just got to drill holes, tap and seal it up, I've decided that as it's only an idler that it wont actually need proper PS fluid in it and grease should be fine for lubricating the bearings, I am going to put a grease nipple on the top for easy access with the gun but as said the plate will be bolted on and will have a nice thick rubber gasket too :naughty but will be removable should I need to get back into it for whatever reason

It's pretty simple mate, you've got enough pics to go off now :naughty

It's hardened steel mate so it's going to take you a while to get through, best advice I was given was to buy some 0.8mm slitting discs which worked a treat :bow
