AND GET SOME MUFFS ON or you'll be as deaf as me

Come again?! :lol

Yeh I have some little squashie ones somewhere and some eye protection, last time I cut metal the disc got nipped and shot blasted my face, I like to think my reactions would have been quick enough but I was very glad I was wearing goggles, bloody hurt did that as well :lol

Do you like my nipples? :D

How much were they mate? That looks great and just what I'm after :naughty

They were free, my mate got them from his work while he was drilling and tapping the s/box for me, I'm only using one so if you can't get any I'll post you the other foc bud :thumb2

Got to love a freebie :thumb2 You started your steering box yet? You better not be slacking!!!!

Drilled and tapped the box yesterday, in the end I've used 6 bolts, messed up on of the holes and had to re-drill right next to it, I'm really impressed with my handy work without being big headed. A few months ago I would have much rather put my hand in my pocket and paid for someone to have done this for me and this is the first time I've ever done any kind of fabrication work :thumb2

It's amazing what you can do when you do your research and get the right tools for the job and I look forward to many more projects like this :naughty

First attempt ever at tapping into metal

Rubber gasket that is going to be sandwiched between the box and top plate

:lol slacking?, not far behind you really bud, I've been working on my tow bar setup too and I've got some drop links on the way from craig :D I am genuinely getting giddy:D. My box didn't come with arm on, do the standard ones work or do I need to get a special one?

I did mine two years ago :lol
Now who's slacking :augie

Standard arms will be fine however we are beefing ours up :naughty How far are you with your box cutting? Get some pics up :thumb2

I didn't have the Terrano 2 years ago never mind need to upgrade the steering setup :lol

Got all the bits out and unwanted parts chopped off everthing, mates gonna get me a bit of plate and I think I'm going to rivet it on, Craig is making me some spacers as well as arb drop links (cheers Craig :thumb2) and my other mate has got the shaft/spindle to turn down a little in his lathe where I have chopped the teeth off. I'm going to do a bit more grinding on the box to make a recess for the plate so it sits flush when on. I'll take some pics tmoro bud :thumb2:D

I went a little deep with the cutting disc in one spot, but I think the chrome plating should cover it up, if not gold inlay :lol

On Board Navigation

Off topic but totally sexy

Managed to find a heavy duty Kensington Notebook Cooling stand that will be secured to my dash board somehow so it can be removed when I'm not off roading but great for reference when you are out and about on the lanes whether leading or telling the guy off up front that he's missed the lane it was after that gatepost :doh :lol
