Dirty thread hello :D
MOJO s are tricky things to keep hold of, a bit like brownie points, they seem to have a variable shelf life :augie
Don't panic and ofcourse don't give up. I lost mine for a while last year . Luckily I found it again and then some. You just need a bloody good slap , a few days easing up on old Mary J and a deadline
Deadlines work for me :lol
Crack on mate :naughty

Hell yes Pete :splif

I've been easing up nicely the past few evenings, comatose right now on the sofa with a cuppa and King of the Hill

I'm going to have another crack tomorrow

Well the truck is back on the road :thumb2

Tank refurbed with new hoses and clamps all around, new Kunifer lines P Clipped to the chassis and it pulls better than before BUT..... I still get me EML light, code 21, the clear pipe I've put onto the top of the filter as it's being drawn into the IP shows air being sucked in so it's 100% coming on for air in fuel.

I'm going to swap the rubber hose from the lines at the front to the IP now in hope that may be where the air is being drawn in, it is looking evermore likely though that my problem is the pump, I'm hoping it isn't but I'm armed with a new pump and Viton seals now for that eventuality, I will not let this EML light beat me.

ONWARDS

Hiya mate, I've done a little reasearch into adding an electronic fuel pump near my tank and there is a host of benefits to be had. I understand your having a problem with fueling or something aren't you?, I reckon a pump could sort you out mate!

From what I gather the fuel on our trucks is drawn through by a vacuum created by the ip, which is a bit cr4p really and when you take into account your powerchip and veg oil I reckon terrence is struggling for fuel, he needs extra for the power mods and obviously the oil is harder to pull through.
Also, if there is air getting in the fuel system somewhere a pump could expose that by putting the system under positive pressure and showing them up as leaks, apparently it is easier to suck air in than leak fuel out so a hole might not show itself as is. I think 3 or 4 psi is about right for diesel but you might need a bit more for veg.
Even if you rigged a temp pump up to trouble shoot it might be helpful.

Just a little food for thought mate :thumbs

That's a very good point mate and one I'd read about too. I've been messing with high boosts recently 1.2 / 1.3 bar and Tunit up so high it doesn't tick over. The result is awesome BUT fuel misfires happen on hard acceleration. I put that down to the odd bit of air getting in still or simply not enough fuel at that instant. I'm going to try pressure system once I've done the engine swap :sly

Hiya pete, was hoping you'd spot this too mate :thumb2 Thought entered my head when I noticed a hesitation when I revved it. If revved from tick over it would hesitate around say 2000rpm, but if I revved it at 2000rpm when the revs were dropping back down the hesitation would be in a different place. Maybe I imagined it, I have been known to hallucinate but I was convinced me and the purple unicorn were right to think fuel starvation :thumbs

I ended up on a patrol forum I think, apparently a holley red pump :nenau is a good one to have, £180 but I reckon I'll av one in a few months :D

If it's hesitation while reving at standstill then that is normal. ECU uses a basic map until the motion sensor ( I think) kicks in.

Nice one bruv, how did you beat the kunifer?

With some heavy gauge gloves and a lot of patience and hand ache :lol

Thank's for that Doug, good info, I've seen some good stuff and some cool diagrams online for these type of pumps, I just want my normal pump to just be happy as standard first without the EML on then I'll think about modding another pump inline if that doesn't work. I might drop this spare pump I've got onto it once I've fitted veg proof seals to it, if it still plays up after that the I give up and I'll sell it :lol :lol

On the subject of fuelling, why has nobody ever questioned why Nissan decided to go up from the pump, across the bulkhead, into a filter and then back across the bulkhead and into the pump????

Surely we could make the system a bit more efficient by switching the fuel filter across to the drivers side of the truck :nenau

Can anyone see any issues with doing that?

Is the fuel filter where it is to get some warmth ? :nenau or just because there's room there :lol

Not a clue, doubt it, it is close to the turbo I suppose but can't see it being because of that, only thing I could come up with was that the battery was that side and that it was a safety/MOT thing? :nenau

Look how much unneeded pipework there is going all the way across the bulkhead.

There's not much space there at all though, lot of work I reckon :doh

Y61 fuel filter is same side as the battery. The 4.2 also, although that's because she's 24v so has a battery on the passenger side.

Batteries both sides on my Trol :nenau
Put it where you want I guess Banshee.:D

Swapped the Steering Shaft with the knackered UJ's for the one Rick sent me, what a gent!!! Gave it some paint and added me rubbers to it and fitted it back on.

The play in the UJ's in the old one would have been funny if it wasn't so dangerous, imminent failure was certain so anyone else with a lift and larger tyres, check your steering shaft UJ's!!! You've been warned

Also tried to figure out where the leak was coming from on my IP, I think I've found the source of my EML light!!!!

I've just switched the 2 engine belts for a set of Dayco belts :thumb2

Compression Rod bushes and cups are being swapped for some polybushes :thumb2

Exhaust Flexi blowing and needs to be swapped but I can't replace the front downpipe for a standard Terrano one as my Powerflow system seems to have been custom made :doh

Thanks to Rob & Heidi at japanese4x4spares.co.uk in Honiley who managed to order a new flexi for me at the grand price of £20 and had it delivered and ready for me to collect 1 HOUR after I'd been in!!!! Now that's service.

The flexi is made my Klarius and the part number is FRP13K A60197

Chopped the old one out and ready to refit the exhaust now

The old one had seen brighter days, thanks for your service friend :fiddle:
