Got the S/C bolted up on first attempt :clap

Need to work on the front mount bracket now to hold the nose drive wheel in place properly :beer

Also need to find a suitable belt tensioner up the scrappy

now we can see the size relationship tween the SC and the engine, are you sure the bottom end will take it, this looks well big, more than that super big, I want the first ride in it, in case it does not survive  Rick

Lifted info from many Aus forum threads. The usual method of tuning is the turbo route which puts about 30-40 BHP on the stock lump. No issues as the 6 cylinder is apparently built to battle ship spec :D
Plenty of super modders out there running 250 bhp plus on stock bottom end :thumbs
My main goal though is a shed load of torque :naughty
I'll be monitoring EGTs, oil temps and coolant temps as a matter of interest as well as engine safety

might be a good idea to monitor altitude too ....... for when you take off :augie:lol:lol

Pulley size/ratio will determine boost so perhaps run a bit bigger one On The charger than what u are aiming for to start with ...

I bet that can push 30psi if you want, you want say 14 to start ?

Yeh that's what I read, 14 was the ideal actually
I've got a few front drive wheels of diff sizes to play with boost :sly
Any idea where to get belt sizes from? ie what size belt from what car etc

Dunno mate, you still looking at a double vee ?

Yes I think that beast will need ribbed as you don't want no slippage

It's going to be critical getting the pulleys and tensioner or any idlers running completely level or the belt will be forced to rub on side of pulley/idler etc

Many Vw/Audi/seat engines have ribbed belts, I remember the old v6 Audi lump had a long ribbed belt for starters ...

Psi is not the only issue, volume is tied into it, just imagine a SC for a great big 400 ltr engine produces 14 psi , stick that on your little 3 ltr and you will get the max the SC can produce at idling, but will in fact stall the engine, so is a no brainer, Rick

In fact I think all VAG engines had ribbed since like early 90's

Yes, its determined by the Venturi its forced through is it not ? Like if the truck ran 4" pipe and then make it fit ran 2" then you'd have issues and have to tame it down some what

I think CFM is what matters here ?

no much more complicated than that, but too pissed now to answer with accuracy, Rick

What a great topic. More More More... :bow:clap

Oh all right then :lol
The sun came out today and I did some work from home :augie
Then got bored and did some work on the trol :sly
Clutch assembled now and snout fixed. Belt alignment seems good and clears the alt belt assy. I even think I'll get the bonnet to close with a bit of soundproofing removal  Stealth blower :naughty

Justenough room:thumb2that'll save modifying the snout too:cool:
