Route cards are now available for this day in advance, please contact me with a valid e mail address if you require one. They are in downloadable PDF format.

Downloadable? Where from? (sorry, I'm a newbie - so just don't know).

I'd appreciate a copy, if possible. Use the EMail I registered with, if it needs to be mailed.

Thanks

and I thought evryone in Oldham lived in the dark

Nah, that's Rossendale (where I used to live).

Stanage is not on this time for this club, so you should be Ok.

S'okay - I did Stanage in the passenger seat of someone else's Defender 90 a couple of weeks back - and some around Holmfirth plus a few in Derbyshire, such as Roych Clough, Dirtlow Rake, Ughill Moor and Houndkirk Road in my own stock Isuzu Trooper (I'll be driving that for the last time tomorrow when I collect the Patrol). The Trooper was fine on all those, so if those are the kind of places you are going - the Patrol should be OK, even on road tyres.

Incidentally, do any of you chaps use Memory Map?

Andy can you fire me a route card across too.

I use memory map if anyone wants a trace instead of plotting the route card PM me your email address and I'll fire you one over once I've plotted it.

Playtime Green Lanes....

Yep,
I am up for this, have been looking forward to actually getting off road with you lot since I joined, but keep missing the trips.

Am looking forward to it, but be gentle with me !

I've put you down, and most of the route is Ok, there are one or two sections that require a little more care but you have the option to miss them out and drive around. There are plenty of experianced drivers to offer advice should you require it.

A quick update, since I wrote the route card I have found that one lane Shatton lane has been re classified as a restricted byway (just the 500m section at the top)

An e mail has advised me that Senners lane may now be re classed as a restriced byway (the lane we have previously used to bypass a tarmaced road) the one with the 7.5 ton weight restriction.

I have also seen a notice, stating......Polite Notice......this lane has now been designated restriced byway and to drive it is a criminal offence. I am currently looking into the legality and truth of that. (Monksdale lane)

So untill I'm happy again that everthing we are intending to drive is fully checked out and legal, I will not be sending out anymore route cards and will be having to re-do the one I was intending to use.

My fault I suppose for getting in advance too much

The day will still go ahead, almost as planned. I will keep you updated as I work.

Thanks

polite notices are usally put up as peoples brains usally see police notice and get scared and back off

True, but you can't be too carefull these days with everybody out to sue somebody  Untill I've checked it out, and at first look its rubbish  I'll avoid that bit. The route passes the farm house, like open the window and touch the kitchen window close. through a gate and down a steep grassy slope with a huge drop to one side. Illegal users at this point exit via the farm drive and through some private cottages. Unacceptable I know, if you can't drive the legal route you shouldn't be there, but we'll never stop the illegal users anyway.

bet the people in cottages had hand in it. my back garden has right of way through it right past back door/bathroom/toilet windows councill refused permision to block it no one uses it as both side neighbours have it locked with gates yet they were ones who complained my shed blocked there acess!

Don't let the ramblers association know, they'll be on your doorstep demanding to walk it

its alright for those who make rules there on £25k yr in nice airconditioned office with nice range of rubber stamps to polish, no common scense left, bit like the gun laws people who legally own a firearm dont usally go round shooting people yet get penalised yet mr yardie thug dont give stuff who he shoots aint affected in the least always people like yourself who adhere to law who lose out

A bit more on Monksdale

Have a look HERE the top 2 refer to DMMO applications in Monksdale area, the second one is completely frivolous as there is no need to upgrade to a BW as its already an ORPA so theres full rights on there anyway, the first one is upgrade FP to BW but is just off the lane we came down, right next to but in the field alongside where the Polite notice was posted.

Just had a look, the 7th down Heydale (03167) is on my new route card for this day along with "Donkey lane" @ 07727921 to 09397850. I havn't driven either but am assured they are both passable by someone who has recently.

I've had a quick look at other Parishes and almost every lane in the black Harry, High Rake Peak Pastures area etc has outstanding applications from 2003

From GLASS website
NERCA s.67(3) deals with what to do when there is an outstanding BOAT application. Where the claim was made before 20/1/2005 (in England) or 19/5/2005 (in Wales) last year, the extinguishment does not take place. The claim would still need to be determined in the usual way of course.

So High rake etc are all still legal to drive at least until DCC gets around to dealing with the applications.

I have the horrible feeling we will just loose more, and its hard to understand when so many are of hard sustainable surafce, like those in the Black harry and Peak pasture area.
