Probably yeh, might be worth just pasting some over the lot if you need to drive it.

Still driving it but restricting myself to 40mph:doh
This isn't going to be a quick fix because of work, replacing the axle, so need to plug it short term.
We'll get there though:D

Just watch it don't lose too much fluid otherwise it could get pretty hot!!!!

I'd hate for it to seize up on you while driving or anything, if it did, you might end up taking your prop out and maybe even cause damage to your gearbox too

I'm keeping an eye on it:thumbs

Drop the axle, weld a plate over the top half and weld the diff up while your there, should be fun in the wet :naughty

if you can find the hole, a short term fix could be to put another breather tube in.....?

Try MJM breakers in hull, they seem to break loads of terranos, they have a few on eBay but I reckon they'll have loads more terry parts not advertised 01482 355110.

Has there been folks here who have changed from the Renault rear axle to earlier one?

Why does the casing look so pitted? has to be weakened??

My 96 plate mav axle casing is in better condition

Aye. I think it's fubar'd.
Only found the one and will get my brother to weld it up hopefully. Nowt to lose. Still searching for a replacement axle but I'm wary about getting another in the same condition.
