Nice rack :naughty

Seriously tho it looks good man, whats all the electrical gubbins for?

It's a berlingo rack. Need to modify it a little so I can fit a light bar at the front and work lights at the rear.
I'll be copying lazy ferret on electrics. 16mm2 cable through to the back to a fuse/ relay board for extra boot space lights, work lights and a couple of spares for expansion later:naughty
There'll be another fuse/ relay board in the engine bay for the front light bar and winch:cool:
That's after the new exhaust, body lift and pinion seal though.:D

Purchased my new exhaust and pinion seal from milners. Was unsure which pinion seal I needed so phoned them and they were extremely helpful, phoning Nissan to make sure they sent the correct one:thumb2
I had my truck up on the ramp to wire brush and wd40 the exhaust fixings when brother turned up and told me he'd booked it in at his local exhaust and tyre shop as they owed him a favour. Dropped it off to them on the way to the cafe:augie Picked it up all done. :thumb2

The pinion seal is next on the list Monday:thumbs
I'll take a photo of the exhaust when it's next up on the ramp hopefully before it goes all scaby and rusty:lol

This made things a bit easier:D

The first look at a new exhaust

Tied up the prop, managed to remove the nut (27mm) with an electric impact gun. Pulled the old seal and replaced with a new one

Didn't take a photo after fitting the new one though:doh There was also a difference between the seals. The old one was in a metal retainer with a lip so would only go in so far. The new one was just a normal seal with no metal retainer.

I do have the item number for the new seal and will post it as soon as I have cleared up and found the packet.

Filled with fresh oil. 1.5ish litres:confused:
I've been talking shite all this while saying it takes 2.8litres but that's what it says on the comma website?

Anyway, next job body lift:eek:

Super jealous of that unit and ramp that you have at your disposal mate

That's weird man, you sure it's def full with 1.5l in? Did you manage to measure what came out?

Just noticed as well, your diff is in way way way better condition than mine, I can chip 1" thick chunks off metal off the casing of mine

Think I'm going to get a swap on the go for an earlier cast axle

I spent half hour chipping and scraping before anything else. There's still loads of crusty though.

Rear diff. No i didn't measure what i drained.
I had the drain plug out until I refilled as there is an oilway between the seal and the bearing that I got the airline on to make sure it was clear.
I refilled it till it dribbled and I could see the level but I will check it just to be sure but yes, it only took 1.5litres. Definitely not 2 litres cos I'd already used some out of 1 bottle :nenau

It is sweet having a lift to use but there's alllllways something on it. Today it was a v6 vitara that had the gearbox out and laying on the floor underneath. Bloody heavy it was and then I had to push it out on my own:(
Still worth it though:cool:

Here's the info on a replacement rear diff pinion seal on my 04 plate. The gaylord down dated nambypamby elcheapo diff:lol
