Terrance, who's Terrance?
I've not been showing Terrance much love of late and it's starting to show!!!!
I've been working every spare minute I have to get the 3 litre back together and even when I'm not with it I feel like I'm just sourcing parts.
Terrance is currently sat at home in front of the 3 litre but not looking as pretty I'm afraid, he is missing a passengers side wing trim that came off last laning weekend we had out, currently got one in the bodyshop with the 3 litre wings that are being repaired :sly
I have a squeal coming from the Power Steering belt which is only a few months old, this only happens first thing in the morn if there is moisture around in the air or it's been raining and I try to give it some lock, I'll investigate and hopefully it will just need tightening a little more as it's slipping.
Then we get onto my front shock absorbers and front anti-roll bar bushes, my truck has been making the weirdest creaking noises when cornering at low speeds, it's embarrassing, it sounds like when you stand on a really old floorboard in a very old house. I've tracked the problem back to being the Polybushes that I had from Milners, now before you all expect a rant, I'll defend these Polybushes as I've had them a while now but they have just become very hard and rigid and have developed cracks and very misinformed. I've decided to follow in Elty's footsteps and move back to normal rubber bushes, I've got a set of Lemforder bushes to fit :thumb2 As always, nothing is simple and upon removal of the last 14mm nut from the clamp holding the bush between chassis and bar, the stud in the chassis decides that it's going to shear off :doh
Out with the drill bits and 40 mins later I have 10mm hole again and a nut and bolt to match, disaster averted there.
As time was pressing on and I knew that it was likely that the top nuts were going to be seized solid on the shock absorbers, I cracked on with this to get the noisy jobs done early and out the way.
Rick should recognise these old shocks, they were the ones me and TDoug fitted at the camp site after I'd just come back from my driving holiday in Scotland, Wheels On :sly :sly Thanks for the red insulation tape Rick to keep the upper plastic from falling off, it's held up well, I deffo got my monies worth out of them :lol
I ran out of time and mojo last night so I just called it a night with the misses Fiesta at my disposal I wasn't going to lay on wet tarmac any longer than I needed to, plus I was struggling badly trying to get the shock into place on the lower arm, the bushes are so fresh and plump that I think I'm going to need to bend the arms back to be able to get it into place enough to feed the bolt through.
Oh and things aren't looking good at the injector pump either, I suspect it's got a few months left in it tops as it's splashing veg around now all over the place, it's soaked my steering box, chassis and the whole bottom 1/4 of the pump is wet :doh
I'd better start building my new pump up pronto, that's going to be a project for the Xmas break I reckon in my festive jumper like an elf at the workbench in the garage :lol :lol
