He's talking about a FPT fixed penalty ticket and £20 for a new set of number plates for my Trol.

Not a chance , but do listen for the distinctive sound of a jeep on the drive :augie :D

Didnt say I agreed or disagreed but due to the numpty machine getting confused on anything but bog standard spacings they have little "initiatives" around the country. Cant you havent been warned :naughty

One thing I did hear said a while ago that caused mumblings in the audience was that people who have personalised plates to make a statement actually shoot themselves in the foot by having "corrupted plates" .

The logic being quite simply that it says hey look for whatever reason I have a personalised plate to make a message (jokes about egos and peniss were chucked in) ......but .....errr ...... i .....errr .................couldnt quite afford the one I wanted so errrr this'll have to do :augie;) lmfao at some of the red faces present.

Again not saying what I think of that but it is a good one to throw at someone who wants to argue the toss :naughty

Why thank you kind sir, I'll be suitably warned for local innititives:lol
Current one round here seems to be the FM rule:augie Soon as they see me truck, plod says FM and pulls me over :doh

dont kow why anyone would want a old disco, what about a landcruiser, patrol or a shogun better value and better reliability.regarding private plates red hot in donny checking them, luckily mines not needing altering to read.

See I don't buy that rubbish for two reasons.

Firstly, whatever the bloody spacing, every number plate is unique isn't it - so its the order of the characters thats important, not whether theres a one or two inch gap between them or no gaps etc...

And secondly, OCR technology is a damn sight smarter than that.

Dodgy fonts I can understand, but not spacing. And when the government, via the DVLA, sells the right to use a particular plate that it knows has value on the street because of what it looks like, especially if re-spaced, and then eggs the constabulary on to be harassing the poor old motorist about same, well its a bloody poor show IMHO. :bow

P.S. can you tell I just got nicked by a ba5tard camera for doing 35 in a 30 :(
