A little update, not been doing much really, front brake pads needed changing and luckily I could get some through work. The small parts shops near me have all closed and the likes of Andrew page are only dealing with trade, so our parts department ordered me some, no drama :thumb2
I discovered I need new sliders on my calipers so I've ordered some, should be here wed/thurs :D

My dog wasn't even slightly interested :lol

Something didn't feel right while driving my truck so I did some investigating. The bottom arm is broken, in two places, DOH this is the front

Mine was just the front luckily.
Managed to do it by just removing the diff cross member bolts.

I put a weld prep on the edges of the breaks so i could get a good strong weld on them.
Just a 45 degree edge one each side so the weld could pool in the join:thumb2:thumb2

Very nice:thumb2
When funds allow I'm going to order myself a set of the hoses from pioneer

Yeh they are a little treat really, old ones have been fine. I've always wanted to know if they make a difference though, people seem to rave about braided hoses so let's see :D

If your old hoses are long and old you should feel a difference in pedal travel and firmness. Bikes are where you really notice a difference as the feel is through your fingertips and the OE hoses are usually very long with no hard sections.

I'm looking forward to finding out hope there is a noticeable difference

I have welded up the broken part I pictured earlier, I don't know what it's proper name is :lol
It was hard to get the grinder in so I cleaned it up best I could, the back was even harder so I just welded where I could, if I ever need to take the bottom arm off I will re-fix them better.
I put the bits of weld around the top bolt so the washer and nut had a more level surface.

I also put some weld on the o/s one to try and prevent it from breaking. A ratchet strap did a great job of moving everything back into place.

Nice work mr Doug :thumb2
I completely removed my bolts for better access.
Had to cut the inner one out and replace it but made the job so much easier :thumb2
