It's quite frustrating having this winch on the front and no good reason to use it :lol

I'm in Bridlington right now having a few days in the van with the boy, of course I had to have a little look on memory map to see what is about :D then it hit me, I don't think I'm a million miles away from where I had to abandon the truck that time and come back the next day, we'll see what friday brings eh :sly:naughty:D

You be careful out there T-Doug. It's quite a drive from Cannock to pull you out:lol

I finished my winch off today by fitting an isolator switch, I will move the solenoid box into the engine bay one day but for now it's done :thumb2

That isolator is OK for occasional use, I have had several of those on the boat and although they are supposed to be rated more, have burned out at least three at only 100 amps, I now use the larger metal key type (Vehicle Wiring Products product code 60550 £26.50) the last thing you need is the isolator to fail just as you are almost out, at full steam your winch can pull 300 amps, Rick

Thanks Rick, I found the website and the part, book marked it for later :thumb2

Incidentally I do not have an isolator on my winch on the off road motor as even those will not cope with the stick I give mine, the auto 500 amp thermal cut outs gave me so much trouble I binned them, I only stop winching now when I can smell the motor:naughty:naughty, Rick

This is copied from the web page of place I bought winch

♦ Line Pull - No Load: 5.7 m/min (80 Amps)
♦ Line Pull - Full Load: 1.2 m/min (340 Amps)

I doubt...and hope that I won't have to give it as much welly as your off road one Rick :lol

Problem is all these numbers are generic, I have a clamp DC amp meter and it always shows amps far in excess of makers specs, but as you say doubt you will stress it like I do, Rick

yep that switch isolator won't last long, You need to get a bigger and better made one.

Mine lasted a few weeks at best then let me down when I went to first use it

Cheers man, I've bookmarked the page of the one Rick recommended, I'll get one ordered :thumb2

Doug id be interested in your lwb roof bars if you have a price in mind.

Now then me old :D the roof bars are available if you want them fella, sorry I took so long to get back, its complicated :lol

I don't know what they are worth mate, I was gonna ask Rick what he thought price wise :nenau I don't want the earth for them though.

So this started giving me some grief the other day, I disconnected the horn forca couple of days 'cos I couldn't find it at first and had no idea what it looked like, it was still in place as only one side had broken. Did a search in here and found some pics that mattsterrano had put, thank ffff :lol 15 seconds with a flathead screwdriver and no more problem :D Jim, say thanks to matt for me :thumbs

I've had that one too on my Maverick Doug, I was terrified to go poking around in there though because of the air bag :O

For some reason people frequently tell me I'm either brave or stupid :nenau it's both, I'm brave because I'm stupid :p:lol

I've bought some of this stuff http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Liqui-Mol...839883&hash=item2a6ec0337b:g:xX0AAOSwZKBZGteK, I've used it before ages ago and its good stuff, I'm going to run a litre though when I get it and a litre through probably in 6 months. I was thinking of making a vid of doing it as it isn't one you just dump in the tank, there are a few on you tube but non for the Terrano, what you reckon?

I reckon a can of that would be enough to send my IP to sleep for good :doh

I can't believe it's still going if I'm honest
