This post has made most enjoyable reading. I am really glad you have sorted all your problems Wendy, most people would have given up long ago...well done.

hello jim
the problem was neglect of everything The 4 wheel drive had broken rings in the hub and it was seized no grease the hub was not turning to engage but today hubs greased and repaired I put it under pressure and clunk it sprang into life and got me out of a hole   -cheers-

hi willow.. you do seem to have been having a few troubles...

everything done now??

zippy

Thanks everyone
My fault for buying a bad bad terrano 2 from a very bad man
But hey I have met all of you and I know more about this terrano than any other ( apart from the fergie) car I have ever owned. It starts first time now still a little missing but over in a few minutes and it runs sweet on the short runs I have given it. The list of repairs stands at
1. New brake pipe front to rear and flexy across the back.
2. New fuel pipe front to rear
3. Fuel pump removed and sent off for reconditioning £300!!!!
4.Fuel filter and small filter ( which was still there 8O ) replaced and cleaned
5 Water removed fron fuel tank 8O
6front brake pads and discs replaced
7. front brake pistons freed off now working
running out of room and the th 4 wheel drive  -banghead- -rotfl-

Wendy I'm so pleased your sorted out. I have to say the things on your list have all been done on mine other than the fuel pump. I think others too have had these changed or repaired. So I think these are simply age, the 4wd will be because not everyone uses 4wd or even gives it a try to keep it all moving one in a while. Here's hoping you have some trouble free motoring.

The list goes on but do not want to boar you all  -wor-
The best bit apart from all of you
Was when I took the terrano back to the garage to get the exhaust replaced( and they were really helpful throw all of this the best)
I went to pay for the exhuast and fitting pluss freeing off the hubs and they said
No charge but we would love a free range turkey for christmas 8O    -mex-
Well for once I was lost for words
One of my turkeys for an exhaust and 4 wheel drive!!!
What a barter they have restored my faith in the human race.
And so have you lot

all sorted for now

glad to hear your up and running again.i know how you feel with the never ending list.my last t2 a 1997 2.7 tdi, looked all fine and dandy when i handed over 2 grand for it,but then things started to go wrong and after a year i finally gave up(and so did my wallet)so i decided to break it for spares.now my latest one is being a pain in the rear end.thing is the things that have broke recently are all the parts that i have sold :?

elton
