Been a while since i really did anything to the terrano other than general maintenance so i thought i would kick off another little project.
Made myself a pair or rear spring dislocation cones.
I've never lost a spring but have had to re seat them a few times so hopefully these will do the trick.
Will get them fitted at the weekend and give me an excuse to go out and try them on a few local lanes:thumb2

When you have a powder coating plant at your disposal it would be rude not to:cool:

Just read trough all the pages....wow what a topic! :clap

Still not finished yet:lol
A new front winch bumper is being designed and a re vamp of the rear is on the cards as I'm not 100% happy with the shape of the sides and corners.

got the cones fitted last night:thumb2
i do need to get the underside of the truck cleaned up and painted:eek:

been a while so its time for an update.
My terrano has always suffered from burning oil.
i did a compression test and found i was down on all 4 cylinders so the choice was made to replace the engine.
Bought one for a bargain price from our very own forum god Rick:thumb2
Last weekend the time to pull the old lump finally arrived so it was out with the tools:cool::cool:
off came the bonnet for ease of access.

had to cut down a socket so i could access the torque converter bolts.

a couple of hours later everything was removed and out came the engine hoist.

half way there

hoist on full height but not quite high enough for the sump to clear:doh

no problem, just whipped the front wheel off and lowered it right down on the jack:thumb2

lodsa room:clap:clap

onto the trolly and ready for the ancillaries to be stripped off for the new lump

Got home from work to another new bit of kit.
Makes working on the engine so much easier:thumb2IMG-20180907-WA0002.jpg

How on earth did you keep all the ali bits and others clear of the blue, surely you did not mask it, it would have taken hours, but looks very good, Rick

Elty your definitely a connoisseur.
Lovely job.
Will it be ready for the Overland show?
