The back of the Diff is painted white and then there's a small light that shines on it.

This is the light that the vehicle behind you follows when there's no other lights on!

So it’s nothing to do with 1970’s retro boy racer thing, escorts charging around with rear end jacked up with a red light shining down on to the rear axle

This sounds interesting, I'll have to do a bit of research on that.

That was still a thing in the 90's :lol I remember dreaming of the day that I got my first car as a youngster, always hoping it would be a Renault 5 in white :lol

No oil leaks on this one Uncle

Those convoy lights seem to be well recognised in the military vehicle world but I can't find a picture of one in situe, on an axle being used for it's intended purpose.

Sounds really old school to me and pointless on a road going truck :lol, maybe something I'd consider on Terrance though for a crack.

You'd have to have it on a separate switch too ideally as needs to be on even when all the other lights are off, it also seems generally accepted that if you install one of those, you also have to be able to cut the brake lights too from inside the cab according to a few military fitters online

Here we go!!!!

I remember following that light and it's the only thing you can see. It takes so much concentration that you are literally sweating in sub zero temps!

This is what you need..

Army headlight switch.

Lol or for dogging - sex convoy!

As long as there were big busty blondes in Land Rovers in front, they will have to stop at some point!!!! Those Oil sumps are like sieves :lol

More likely to find some bearded bloke smelling like cow poo and oil in a landy!
