So I brought a pair of front Sachs shock absorbers for the truck and had a bit of of an embarrassing incident with them
:doh
I couldn't for the life of me get them to extend any further than they were in the box, they looked like they were the wrong shocks for the truck and I started a returns case on eBay and ordered another set, couldn't find any more Sachs ones so went for a set of Boge.
It was only when they came that I realised a few things, firstly they were the same length as the Sachs ones BUT inside the Boge box there was a little piece of paper saying to extend them you had to push down, spin clockwise and then extend, I tried it with both sets of shocks and they turned out to all be they correct shocks for the truck :lol :doh
It also appears that both sets of shocks are identical and from the same factory looking at the numbers on the shock bodies so that's useful info I suppose :thumb2
Here they are fitted with new tie rods, drag link in place and heavy duty bump stops :sly
Then I started on rebuilding the passengers side brake caliper
Thats better, all stripped and clean ready for some paint, I've gone for a dark green just to break up all the black in there
New bleed nipples to be fitted, new slider pin boots and sliders will be getting an emery down and some copper grease.
