Seriously Zac, due credit to you, with that kind of attention that truck will last you out, :bow, Rick

Cheers Rick, it's meant to be going up for sale when it's done but the closer it gets to being finished the more and more I want to keep it myself :(

Nothing to stop me selling up and finding a nice Y61 SWB Trol to do it all over again with :sly

looking the dogs danglies Zac!!
You know you want to keep it:naughty:naughty:naughty

So I brought a pair of front Sachs shock absorbers for the truck and had a bit of of an embarrassing incident with them  :doh

I couldn't for the life of me get them to extend any further than they were in the box, they looked like they were the wrong shocks for the truck and I started a returns case on eBay and ordered another set, couldn't find any more Sachs ones so went for a set of Boge.

It was only when they came that I realised a few things, firstly they were the same length as the Sachs ones BUT inside the Boge box there was a little piece of paper saying to extend them you had to push down, spin clockwise and then extend, I tried it with both sets of shocks and they turned out to all be they correct shocks for the truck :lol :doh

It also appears that both sets of shocks are identical and from the same factory looking at the numbers on the shock bodies so that's useful info I suppose :thumb2

Thats better, all stripped and clean ready for some paint, I've gone for a dark green just to break up all the black in there  New bleed nipples to be fitted, new slider pin boots and sliders will be getting an emery down and some copper grease.

Shocking news that:lol
At least you have spare pair for the future.
Looks better than when it rolled off the production line:clap

Lots more work today, painting bits here painting bits there, building bits, tweaking bits etc etc

I've managed to get pretty much the whole front left of the truck rebuilt now and will start the other side tomorrow night. I've also refitted the Panhard Rod, Rear Shocks and half of the Rear Anti Roll Bar setup.

Not even sure I'm brave enough to take on such a task!

Well Done mate! :bow

Looking good is this mate. What type of paint and prep are you doing on the light clusters? Are you doing the brake lights as well?

Just normal halfords spray cans mate, etched up the surface first, few layers of primer and a few layers of top coat :thumb2 The ones on Terrance are still going strong and haven't flaked or faded!!!

Yeah I'll be doing the brake lights as well, at the same time while I've got all the stuff out I might do the ones on Terrance

I’ll bring mine around too :augie

That's the problem with doing one.....you have to do them all ha ha

It will be door handles next and the plastic in between the rear lights where the rear window wiper is :p

Looking real good mind :clap

More work on the 3 litre this weekend too

New front bumper reenforcer has been sourced and needs to be prepped and painted.

Rear bumper is now back on with newly sprayed lights fitted, I even messed around and fitted a private plate I'm thinking of buying soon.
