Re: GEARBOX REAR LEVEL PLUG I ran the offside up on one ramp and opened the said plug the cheated :smile: I got a peice of garden hose fed it down to the plug using No1 son to get under the car and put pipe in the put a funnel in the otherend :smile: easy and I didn't get the dirty -dance-...

Only just read this posting, and all the follow-ups I would be looking along the line that toolbox suggests as I have had this happen many years ago to two cars one a mk 3 cortins and the more recently a vuaxhaal carlton est both gave simalar sound as to the one you are discribing.

earlier this year I paid £98 for a ccentre /rear box up in cumbria slow fit couldn't touch the price :smile:

Never done the job myself but I have just had a new windscreen and the guy's were done very quickly just take your time if it's stuck prize off gently don't rush and you could even get some black mastic to help reseal it afterwards. sorry if it's not much help but I bet some one will be along...
