Mine actually bolts through the front of the bumper. However I've also still have use of the recovery hook. I found even with the two bottom bolts in its still very sturdy. Any chance you could do away with the top mounts in anyway

Loads of gt85 spray or wd. I think it's only the bumper brackets that need welding. Couldn't you get someone to do it for a few beer tokens.

Have you thought about just a 2" body lift leaves the suspension well alone the with it been your daily

Don't use veg over a period of time I lost a lot of power from running on it. Took a good few miles with Derv in again to get full power back.

Rustic I feel your pain. I have major issues with my right shoulder lots of clicking and creaking. Doctors don't seem to understand the pain I'm in with it most days all from a car accident 9 years ago.

For peace of mind I'd change trackrods,idler arm while your doing steering bar
