As title says it's been like it for months
Replaced the idle arm bushes and tightened up wheel bearings but although the drive is better it sure does make some strange noises!

Sounds like an old person walking down the stairs :augie

dry ball joint/swivel point, my inner a arm bushes used to creak as the castor changed when turning...not necessarily directly related to the steering components.

Creaky suspension

I have had this on previous cars - worst offender was a 260 E that had low profile tyres. It turned out to be the front ball joints they had / have a nylon component that gets dry and makes an awful noise.
No play in the joint for MoT issues just an awful noise. I injected the joints with lubricant and it worked for a while in the end I replaced them.

Typical, I am visiting Rick tomorrow, if this running issue goes well I might ask if can put it on the magic ramp and have a peek, then I could order appropriate parts. Since my steering fiasco I am a little worried

Round sharp corners she really makes a noise!! like a load of bones clicking :lol

PLEASE DONT FALL OFF, PLEASE DONT FALL OFF  :p

lift up the boots on the ball joints and get some spray grease in them, not wd 40.:thumb2

It's too dark now to get a picture,if you look on the track rod ends and drag link you can see the rubber dust covers over the ball joints.
Carefully prize them up with a small screwdriver and spray grease onto the ball joint.
I am fortunate enough to have greasable track rod ends from milners on mine so a few pumps with the grease gun sorts mine:thumb2

Ahh sounds good. I will give this a go tomorrow and try and make myself useful :lol

Every time I turn my steering wheel I get this terrible clicking and graunching noise...:doh

BUT...
It happens on every car I drive...

It seems I have a degenerated arthritic shoulder, that started an incorrect diagnosis by the doctor, as a frozen shoulder, but a recent MRI scan shows if my shoulder was a suspension ball joint, I would fail an MOT.:doh
I wish I could buy a replacement from Milners... now waiting for an appointment with an orthapaedic surgeon...
Some surgery to my shoulder might be called for.:nenau
I hope if they replace the ball joint, they include one with a grease nipple lol...
I don't mind any restriction in the movement, as long as they can get rid of the pain, which is worst at night, which sometimes explains some of my posts in the early hours...

Rustic I feel your pain. I have major issues with my right shoulder lots of clicking and creaking. Doctors don't seem to understand the pain I'm in with it most days all from a car accident 9 years ago.

Doctors told me i need a shoulder replacement, due to old motor cycle and martial arts injuries. Not gonna happen though..

Oh blimey, they all sound painful

I hope they all get sorted soon :thumb2

I have actually used a similar product, flexiseq, which is rubbed on the shoulder and makes it's way to the cartilage where it's absorbed, to be honest it has helped, but not available on prescription, and @£18 a small tube:eek:

Available from Lloyds chemists, internet, and arthritis charity shops.
Where if you buy it in quantity... price drops to a staggering £17 "Bargain":doh
