    Palmserton North. So you have a RD28. parts are cheap here due to the flood of japanese cars, i paid 10 dollars nz for a set of four glow plugs for my TD27Ti not long ago.

    the year is not vague. it was 1993, but depending on what engine stocks was located at what assembly plants around depended on what patrol got what engine. Some pre 93 got the lighter engine as they arrived from japan and some post 93 still got the earlier block until that stock was used up.

    Silver top/ black top denotes whether it was assembled by Nissan Motor Co or its heavy commercial division UD trucks. who assembled the patrols for military use.

    The best engine was the y60 Rb30et The most reliable was the pre 1993 TD42 The most fuel efficient was the RD28T The most powerful was the TB42 The worst engine was the post 1993 TD42 as it was a redesigned casting that although made it more efficient and rev higher the down side was it was weaker.

    we have a product here called , Selleys All Clear, its a bathroom/wet area sealant and is impervious to liquid (displaces the liquid and sticks to whatever is under neath)

    you are better off with the bell housing from a /rd28 patrol and engine from a nissan skyline as they run the same transmission, then you only have to worry about the engine mounts.....

    :eek: 1500!!!, thats 3K nz, i can buy a complete terrano still road legal for that... you need a manual one.

    Super strong steering job

    how ever you mod your steering, ensure the tie rod stays as parallel as possible with the lower arm or you will have bump steer and scollop out your front tyres, It will lead you to think you have a wheel alignment issue otherwise.

    which leads me to believe it maybe the No1 injector with the ecu retarding the timing which will create excessive heat in the exhaust.

    No1 injector, if it is faulty will create a missfire and also will not allow the ecu to bring the engine to full power.

    sounds like all your bushes and bump stops are flogged out and the axis of the hubs/axle are out of alignment with where they are supposed to be. I'm running a -22ml rim offset

    Ironically....The best way to up grade a TD27ETI is to ...downgrade it. By all means get a bigger, better turbo charger. But the gains with the electronically controlled pump are limited even with a chip or piggyback ecu. The TD blocks can handle alot...and i mean alot of boost. there are...
