Looks great pal :thumbs
Are you fixing the brake lines along each end? With the off roadiness you get up to, you don't want to get hung up on something and get them caught, when you're being towed off :hide:

I've heard he likes a tug while out in the countryside

MOT Expired

Terrance's MOT expired on 11th October, I'd luckily already benefited from the government extension scheme.

I'll be brutally honest, I was very very tempted to just strip it down and break it for parts and scrap the rest, he's very tired and need a LOT of work before it's worthy of seeing an MOT testers ramp :doh

Luckily I'd been preempting this and have BOXES upon BOXES of brand new and spare parts to be swapped onto it to get it road worthy again including my brand new set of 33" tyres and freshly sprayed front and rear bumpers with 2 front wing arch trims :naughty

Typically it's the wrong time of year to be undertaking such tasks with nowhere under cover for me to work on it, but such is life and I'm no stranger to harsh weather and graft.

Those of you aware of the continual issues I've had with my garage since we've moved into our new build will know that I'm just about straight with it now, I've got a freshly laid epoxy floor and I've just painted the breezeblock wall that I work against in Sandtex Black and in the process of tidying up the pikey wiring and cheapo surface mount patresses that have been installed with some good quality sturdy "MK" metal ones.

Once I can get my workbench and racking back against the wall and the remainder of my boxes emptied again into their designated locations it will be work ahoy :naughty

Can't wait to get stuck in and as always there will be updates and pictures galore.

I would have hoped to have seen some content from the regulars during the pandemic but not much :nenau

Terrance will ride again

Well...this forum is Read without Terrance so you'd better start moving some spanners :)

Operation Overhaul - Work Starts

As promised, with work now completed on my garage at home, and everything unboxed and in it's final resting place, I've finally been able to crack some spanners out and get on with stripping Terrance ready for his big overhaul

By the end of the weekend I'd made quite a pile!!!

Front diff is also out as it appears the drive flange has a LOT of play in it  The oil you can see on the driveshaft flange is from another unrelated leak that I suspect is still coming from my oil pump :doh

I'm going to swap the diff for a spare that I have on the shelf but that involves swapping the LOKKA over which I may need some advice on depending how tricky it looks to swap over as when I acquired the LOKKA I left it in the diff it came in and just refitted that

Started stripping an old wiring harness that I'd kept from a previous vehicle I broke for parts so that I can fix my speedo sensor on the transfer box

I opened the old diff up and wow!!! The oil that was left inside was gross and stunk!!!

I've stripped the old diff down and removed the LOKKA ready to clean it and re-install in my replacement diff, the bearings were totalled!!!

GPS Navigation Continued

I've recently purchased a genuine internal GPS module for my Toughbook so that I don't have to have a USB hanging out of it. I'e also decided that due to driver issues I'm going to keep it running Windows XP
