The pile on the floor is getting shinier with bits I've rebuilt
CV's serviced and rebuilt
Popped the new boot on my steering damper
I've been doing bits and bobs here and there and the parts pile has certainly got shinier as I've rebuilt and replaced things.
Still more to do and more parts to arrive
Now for some not so shiny pics
It appears that my front diff crossmember which has taken some beating off road has potentially caused the failure of both sides of the chassis that it bolts on to. Elty and TDoug have done the same it seems.
I'm using the crossmember here to take measurements for what I need to fabricate and then it's to work I go
I hate stuff like this.... I'm not the best with a welder and cut cut metal as delicately as I'd like but I'll give it a crack.....
Got 3 days off work next week so will be working through those to make some big dents in the to-do list I hope
Just take your time with it mate.
Make a template from some stiff card and once you are happy with it draw round it onto the steel.
Cut it slightly over size and shape it with the grinder/dremel until it fits like it should.
Give all the metal a good clean up and either clamp or bolt it in place before welding.
:lol:lol:lol:lol Terrence doesn't spend much time on the roads :lol:lol
Zac, I just read your thread from the beginning. Hadn’t seen it before. :doh
The work you have done is excellent and it seems that you had quite a few setbacks. But you are doing an excellent job! :thumb2:thumb2
Something completely different and I understand if you don’t want to answer it on a public forum. Looking at the GPS coordinates on the previous page it shows you near Wythall station. Do you live on the Cornfields development off Selsdon Close?
If so, then I am surprised that I have never seen you drive through the area. We are only 10 minutes away at the other side of the M42 and regularly drive up to The Hungry Horse (animal feeds) on Norton Lane just before Earlswood lakes.
