Ah so, more cutty cutty, less lifty lifty 🚘 oh abd a bit wider . Im game :naughty

Really depends if you are talking about rutting or over mount climbing? if overmount then SWB wins no question, but rutting depends on ground clearance or in other words wheel size, so LWB SWB makes no difference, Rick

NO Rick, swb IS superior machine :D

As some of you will be aware my turbo went bang the back end of last month.

Progress has been slow getting it sorted due to having the 3 litre to MOT which it sailed through, so i was using that.

I've got all the bits I need now so here's some pictures of the work so far

New and Old Turbo Spooning :lol

I've also sourced 10 litres of 10w 40 Mineral after almost a week of ringing around, seems very very hard to get it these days, swear by Mineral though as it makes them run quieter in my experience

You’ve been busy. Totally agree with you about mineral oil making the 2.7 quieter. You’re gonna hate me, there’s a place less than a mile from me that decant Millers less than a mile from me:thumbs

have found 10/40 mineral oil in asda before now my motor factors stock it and eurocarparts do it as well have 8 cans of the stuff as every now and then they do buy one get one free on their oils so i stocked up on all my oils :augie

Local place to me. They also see via ebay. Not sure on your local factors prices by I got this last time I needed an oil change.

Nice find!!! not sure how I've not come across that on my travels across the sea of eBay looking for Mineral before, the only stuff I was finding was Millers "Running-In" oil which is apparently only good for 2000 miles

Thats me point, the oil lubricates the turbo innit

I reckon after 178,000 miles and a good thrashing everywhere it goes it was just due to fail, hard life!!!

Made a little more progress today on the truck. Drained the remaining oil that was left in the sump which totalled about 3.8 litres :O

Few more pipes here and a few more pipes there, intercooler back on, refill the engine oil with my 10w 40 Mineral that I've sourced and it's time to fire it back up.

I'll then take him around the block a few times and see if all is well with the engine and crucially keep tabs on the oil levels.

If it seems the block has survived then I push on for the next phase of work before I can think about putting it in for MOT :thumbs2

Good work!
Will keep the fingers crossed this was all the work you had to do to keep Terrance allive

So all is well :D

Terrance lives again, and he seems to pull better than ever, I just need to figure out where the damn orange wire of this MAF Amp goes :(

Few more jobs to do now to get it through an MOT though, most expensive of which will be the 5 new tyres I'm going to need to purchase. I've decided it's time to go 35 12.50 15 so as a consequence I'm also going to have to do a 3" body lift to accommodate the new boots and possible a wholeeeee lot more cutting.

Also need to sort the wheel arches out and get my new front bumper resprayed and also wait for my reenforcer to come back from having sleeves welded on due to rotted ends.

Lastly is the job I'm dreading the most. I have a fairly bad leak from the top of the windscreen where it attaches to the body of the truck. So much so that when it rains properly the passengers seat gets soaked and it's also staryed to bubble the paintwork on the top of the roof :/

I'll get there, just not sure when

Get in there!!!

Well done mate :thumb2
Thanks buddy, slow progress but in other news my brother is buying the 3 litre off me on Sunday :) full asking price off 3.5k too, there wasn't even a discussion about money as he's seen the effort that's been put in.

Glad it's staying in the family though :) I smell a new member soon, wonder how long it will stay standard lol!!!!
