I feel like I've gone backwards with Terrance rather than forwards before coming on holiday so feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment :doh
The truck went from seemingly starting and running OK one day, and then the next it didn't
It's now taking ages to crank over and even show signs that it wants to start. I know it's fuel starvation as eventually with a little bit of encouragement from a can of Easy Start it will go. It will idle and rev freely all the way round the gauge but, if you stop the engine and leave the truck 10 mins or so, it will take another good 3-4 mins worth of cranking almost flattening the battery before it will burst into life again reluctantly.
I have a clear 8mm hose running from filter head to IP and can see that this is full with no bubbles running through the pipe at all. I've whipped the intercooler off whilst it's been running and have cracked the injectors sequentially in hope that if there is any air in the system that this will be purged out. I'd totally removed the 17mm nuts from the injectors and put the ends of the pipes into food bags. It seems that 1 & 2 have a weak flow and produce very foamy veg oil into the bag wheras 3&4 seem to have a flow rate that I would expect and totally clear fuel.
I'm confused now and wondering if I've either got air trapped in the IP somewhere somehow or if the rebuild and refit didn't actually go as well as I initially thought on the pump with new seals :doh
Either way, when I get home I've decided I'm going to bypass everything and hook up a jerry can feed of pure Diesel and go from there, I'm really really hoping it's just a stubborn air lock :bow Worst case scenario I have a spare pump from the 2005 that I recently broke that I know works fine as i drove the truck before scrapping it, I'll update more on this when I'm home.
As for the 35's that I got off eBay, 3 are good and 1 is a JOKE!!!! 2 big rips in the sidewall from off roading that wasn't in the listing and whoever removed them from whatever wheels they were on before mine look like they did it with a machete :doh I can inflate the tyre to about 30psi and it will be flat on the rim again in an hour
the sellers response "does it matter, just put an innertube in it" then after that total radio silence.
I'm now 4 days away from a resolution that suits me via eBay resolution centre, I opened a case which they gave him 14 days to respond to, 14 days passed and nothing, I asked eBay to step in on Friday and he has until Wednesday to respond now otherwise I get to keep the tyres and get my £230 back which is good news for me as at this point I wont care and will end up just getting an innertube for it as these are a scabby set that are likely to get torn up by the body until I work out exactly how much more cutting needs to be done.
At which point I'll buy myself a shiny new set safe in the knowledge that I'm not going to shred them off the rim
Stay tuned.........
