The front is fairly simple to do with no mods to the bumper just a bracket with the mounting holes 50 mm lower to pick up on the captive nuts in the chassis.
I will have a look at the back to see what can be done without a welder as I have got a spare bumper in the shed :thumb2

Your a gem buddy :thumb2

It's the only thing stopping me from doing this lift!!!

The front spots on the bumper does the bracket bolt go just through the plastic bumper or does it go through the steel work under the bumper as well:confused:

Just Plastic on mine through that part of the bumper, I was worried it wasn't going to be strong enough to cope with the weight and that it was going to wobble them about like the Maverick but they are very very sturdy, the weight distribution of these lamps and the good quality brackets are fantastic :thumb2

2" Body Lift - still ongoing

So I'm half way through my 2" body lift, I say half way through because we started it on Friday afternoon and then we've been busy all weekend so I've got to go back to my mates house tomorrow night after work to get the rear bumper re-welded and some brackets made up for the front.

Whilst I had the bumpers off, I've used a spray can of Waxoyl and done the crossmember on the front and back of chassis on rear :thumb2

For anyone doing this mod, Elty's thread is fantastic and a was a great help, so much so that I'm going to PDF it, so THANK YOU ELTY :clap

Here's the thread (gets juicy from page 3 onwards )

The truck is looking awesome now, gap between top of tyre and wheel arch at centre widest point is now 7.5" all the way round (think I'd better get some 33's :sly)

The truck now stands 7ft tall exactly including spots on roof bar

Here's some teaser pics for you to look at until I get some completed ones tomorrow.

Front Bumper Mounts here will rise so will need a small bracket to bridge the gap
20150410_191711.jpg

This is the rear bumper, the bracket here needs to be angle grinded off and re welded on 50mm lower which luckily is perfectly right at the end so you have something nice to line it up against

This is the Waxoyl session earlier :thumb2 Can't really see the front, weird light

Looks as if you might be missing the grommet out of the O/S/R like mine was:doh got one off an older T2 to help stop any water leaking into the boot/rear 1/4 panel area:augie looking good BTW:thumb2

Ive got one of those grommets in my Terrano spare at the moment :augie

You ran into the same problem with your front bumper mounts too :p that got us nicely when doing mine :lol

Not sure where you are on about :nenau I don't like the sound of water ingress!!!! That's why I took Alex's advice and tigersealed where the 2nd from front body mount comes through the front carpet near the door

What you looking at for that grommet mate?

Yeah that got us good, we were jacking the car up and just heard a creaking and we were like :nenau

Then I rang you and remembered reading about it :doh :lol, Alex actually save by bacon that day :clap

Just fill bolt holes up with silicone that's what I did after forgetting to do it and deep water came rushing in doh!! And took weeks to dry out

looking the dogs matey:thumb2
feel free to add to the thread I did about the front bumper.
never ran into that problem when I did mine as first thing I did was take off the bumpers.

Cheers mate :D

I removed the bumper but didn't take it in it's entirety, I just removed the front plastic part :lol

When we started to jack the body up we knew something was wrong as the whole car was going up rather than just the body :doh then I rang Alex who saved the day

And I only saved the day thanks to Elty showing me, as I had the bondage bars it was all a bit different but we were jacking the whole car to begin with :lol

if you don't completely remove the bumper the front x member that the rad mounts on hits the bracket and lifts the whole car.

Here you go Banshee put a little red arrow pointing to it:thumbs could be there just hard to tell from the pic

A little job but a job no less....

Whilst I was doing the body lift, I obviously had the bumpers off which gave me access to the rear light wires.

It looked as if for some reason the drivers side one had been butchered beyond belief I have no idea how it was working :O

I ordered one off James, came in the post today and fitted it earlier this evening when I was waiting for pizza and chips at one of my favourite stops on the way home

Here's a pic of the old and new together

Lunch Break Maadness

I decided that on lunch I'd put the earphones in and get busy with the tools and get a few jobs done on Terrance :sly

I've been keeping tabs on Pete's Jobs that him and his nipper are doing on the Black Pearl and it's making me feel lazy

First job was to remove the sidesteps that are still sitting in their old position which looks silly after the body lift and almost defeats the object of doing it. I removed them and measured up and need x4 60mm spacers making up.

Sidesteps on

Sidesteps off

Then I started stripping the upper rear cream interior plastics as I'm colour coding everything black the same as the lower interior plastics, the roof lining and all other cream bits are also going to be sprayed :thumbs

20150429_130812.jpg

Then I also decided I'd do the rears of the commercial boards as it appears that the backing has come off over times as there are streaks of glue residue still present on the boards

Plastics removed and tape in place ready for grey primer

You will need plastic primer when you come to spray the internal plastic's & give the plastic's a good wash & a light sand with 800 wet&dry:thumbs you can buy proper spray paint for the roof lining or you could strip the fabric off & redo it but make sure you use high temp contact glue or it'll peel off once the summer comes

Yep, I'm using plastic primer with the plastics :thumb2 Won't make that mistake twice :thumbs Lesson learnt on the Maverick

Please please please send me a link to the roof lining stuff I don't have a clue why but I can never find it :nenau

I'll have a look for some links for you a bit later:thumbs

Went to work today and took a sidestep in to my metalwork man in the pipe labs :augie (the perks of working at a water company) and he's going to knock me up 4 spacers for Tuesday Gratis :thumbs

Decided I'd crack on with stripping out all the rear of the car, I'm also going to Hammerite the floor black :sly

20150430_183946.jpg

As you can see the Window Boards are now in Primer Grey and will be sprayed Matte Black tomorrow hopefully

20150430_184337.jpg

Gave my Rubber Floor liner a good clean :p
20150430_185502.jpg

Roof lining was out, decided to spray it again with spray cans be went carefully this time, used a fair few quids worth of paint though :doh

Horrible Nissan Chique Cream Interior :doh

20150430_180445.jpg

Finished Product, I'll leave it in the entry overnight to dry and get rid of the fumes, it's under cover so wont get wet and gets a good draught blowing down there when windy

20150430_193639.jpg

More to come :thumb2

Keep Going!!!!

Had another big push tonight

All plastic parts in Grey Primer
20150501_192809.jpg

Damn ran out off Matte Black paint :doh will have to finish the rest tomorrow, still wet there hence why shiny
20150501_195023.jpg

Guess what Alex?!?!?!?!?!? Hammer Time!!!!!!!!!
20150501_173221.jpg

Decided that I was going to Hammerite the boot floor as I've seen Terrano's eat themselves from the inside out before from standing water in the boot

20150501_173056.jpg

After still wet as we speak, I slapped it on thick, you wont see it anyway as I've got an original Terrano Rubber Floor Liner, tempted to do the floor liner as well.
20150501_175822.jpg

Roof lining went back in earlier and some of the plastics, also the side window board rears have also been sprayed Matte Black as well but was too dark for pictures so I'll get some tomorrow.

I've also decided to Hammerite the outer door surrounds as I've noticed lots of later ones of my vintage have started to rot around the doors

More to come tomorrow :naughty

Hows the seams on the inside around the rear arches and floor pan. My old 05 plate had a lot of rot going on around there and pin holed letting rusty coloured water drops in under the centre row of seats, yeah I know yours is a swb commercial and mine was lwb but would have thought similar weaknesses.
