Spotlight Switch

Sorting my spare room/office as I'm trying to slim on junk :lol :doh

I have however found my Mk1 Terrano spotlight switch which is exactly the size needed to clip into the recess for the holes that are blanked near my right knee on the dash :naughty

Not sure which wires are needed there to use in conjunction with the relay setup I want to install.

Keeping it OEM as always :sly

I would check the switch is up to the job and rated to carry the load you want to put through it:thumb2

I've used those same switches ion my truck for roof lights, rear work lights and so on. No probs at all via relays ofcourse :thumb2 They even light up accordingly

Yorkshire Trip Incoming

With what I reckon will be my last trip out of the year fast approaching I have a lot of work to do before Yorkshire.

Waiting on a new front passengers hub after a bearing failure the other day did a number on my stub :( got new bearings to fit, x2 Lower Ball Joints, brand new ABS sensor if needed.

Got a new front bumper re-enforcer to cut and fit after the current one has managed to split both it's arms that bolt it to the chassis and still got to source a new set of front wing wheel arch trim as mine have been ripped off because the offset of my wheels keeps catching them, had another session with the lump hammer earlier and took the wing and seam back a bit more.

Then this evening I had a chill out with some wiring and my spots :naughty
Still not finished, going to heat shrink the wires going to the lights too :thumb2

Bit more fettling tonight with the spotlights as I haven't got any bits to finish any of the major jobs really.

I've chopped the bumper reenforcer and going to take it into work tomorrow to weld it back together inside itself if that makes so that it doesn't catch the wheels.

Got access to my partners Fiesta this week so should be able to get some stuff done :)

Little Touches

Nothing major happening really just a few little nick nacks here and there, and since I've managed to get myself knocked up with Costochondritis it's making strenuous work under the motor very hard at the minute :(

Spotlights have been completed though to a very OCD level in terms of cabling, routing etc

Finished result

And I've slapped a few stickers on the side of the truck, being 1 tone silver and also having silver commercial boards I felt the sides were a bit plain and decided some OEM stickers wouldn't hurt for starters.

I've opted for the "4x4 Intercooler" OEM Terrano one that goes near the rear wheel on the plastic trim and those with a good knowledge of these trucks will realise that the 2nd one only came with 96> Mavericks but still true of my truck

Opinions?

Spotlight Switch

I used a Mk1 Terrano fog light switch as it's the same dimensions as the aperture in the dash behind the indicator stalk that are blanked with plates in my car.

The switch is also illuminated when switched on and had a wee orange sticker on it like a price sticker on a pack of cahsews in your local corner shop with the date May 1994 on it, I was 4 years old when that switch first made it into a vehicle :lol

Spots off

Cheers mate, no offense to anyone but all the links to swicthes that were posted up on eBay etc just looked a bit tacky or needed modification to the dashboard and using an original Nissan part appealed to my OEM+ styling regime :naughty

Nice job, pity it didn't light up with dash lights too.

I like it the way I've got it, if it's lit up they are on if not it's off, not that I need much in the way of reminding me that in the cab as I've only got to look out the windscreen and its like someone switched the sun back on :lol
