looks feasable, great idea, wonder if they wheely exist?

Ye saw them on telly about 18 months ago on some science program. Weather it will ever be practical ? who No's.

illy

Theyre not really tyres are they ? they fit where tyres as we know them go but really theyre a kind of suspension to hold a band of uninflated rubber :D:D

Looks like a good idea to me :thumb2

That was the gist of a reply to a couple of things on tomorrows world a few years back.

First one was when they said televisions not too far in the future would be flat and hang on the wall like a picture :naughty

Second was an assertion that after considering compact audio cassetes as they were known and even the reel to reel tape machine you should eventually be able to listen to your music from a tiny device that you could easily carry around and they might even hold a few LPs worth....................;)

Stranger things have happened.

Cool

Practicalities of it couldnt comment :nenau the theory isnt bad at all. The first car tyres were solid so presumably the texture of the rubber and the design of the wheels absorbed the shock, a bit like this thing :nenau though presumably technology maes it a it more efficient.

On a more practical note (and including your fave road going items.......CARAVANS) A bit back when a Tyron band was reviewed they went on to say that now getting the deflated tyre to stay on the rim the technology was being looked at that would provide some kind of suspension system within the airless tyre. Not too far removed really considering that was in the 80's :naughty

Put em on a terrano for offroading:naughty. Think... No punctures :D
