Hit a problem today

Well hit snag, got lovely knobbly tyres on 16 inch Terrano rims so thought I would test them and see what road noise they produced, but they do not fit:doh Trol centre hole is around 110mm T2 one is 100mm, so gonna need some spacer plates, any ideas? I will check the thickness tomorrow, but will need 4 of them Rick

I have machined the centres out before to make them fit.
If you can take Tyres off yourself and get them to machine shop it should not be to costly, I charge a tenner per wheel :thumb2

Thanks for the info, but no I cannot remove the tyres, I can barely lift the damn things let alone strip them, so will go the spacer route, regards Rick

Just ordered 4 of Ebay cheap as chips, another problem solved, as road noise not that bad I will probably run to Slindon on these and just reduce the pressure when there and pump em back up for the return, there are down sides to this, one is Slindon mud on the road if I cannot wash it off and the other is I will still have to change all 4 ready for Monday work, ho hum decisions decisions, Rick

Got the spacers, perfect, did a scrap run today with the trailer, yep road noise at 55 is very notiabe but acceptable for a run to Slindon or even a run to Wales for a lane meet, Troll is heavy, T2 and trailer Tare 2840, Troll 3140 wow and much of the kit I had on the T2 is still in the T2, and yes it smokes a bit but pulls very well, will be fine tuning the smoke as that is just wasting fuel with no performance gain, I do love this Patrol, it is me down to the ground, Rick

Did a little bit of down tuning today to try and cut the smoke, time will tell, but also thought I would check out and blank the EGR, I had disabled it's function but did not know if it was passing or not when supposedly closed, turns out I could suck through it quite well, so yes it was passing, but there is a what I will call a sparge tube into the inlet manifold and it was solid with black gunk, so removed the manifold expecting it to be choked up, but pleasant surprise, it was very clean, so back together tomorrow, sorry forgot pics, Rick

Rotated the boost diaphragm on the pump today 90 degrees, made no difference, so some place within the next 90 there will be a point that smoke stops and performance changes, that is the point I am looking for, plus a tiny bit, :naughty, Rick

A bit of smoke is not a bad thing Rick, much better than running lean and exploding :thumbs

Ha ha,I love the no poke landie lot. I delight in explaining LPG injection to them .I can puff a bit of smoke with the gas off but much prefer the stealth effect. Mind you mine is so loud there's not much in stealth really :lol

Quite wrong smoke on a diesel is just unburnt fuel, waisted money, Rick

I see quite a lot of dirty diesel boy racers around my way with No smoke No poke stickers :lol Some you can hardly read cos of the sooty black mess around quarter of the car:doh

Intention is to start my winch bumper tomorrow but already got a call for dishwasher playing about for am call so we will see, Rick

Pretty poor day all in all called out three times, dish washer electrics, draw fridge needed gas, coffee machine said no water, turned out to be pressure switch failed, so bypassed that till get new switch.

So back to the bumper, this is the intended new item, with some mods of course
