Yeh they don't combine until they enter the wing bud, the wing is double layered so the combining must happen in the layer between the engine compartment and the area above the wheel.

That would make life easier... I'll have a look into it. See what I can see!

On further inspection... Poking around with a little screwdriver, I decided that there was indeed a 3rd outlet hidden behind the metal.

The drill had to come out! :naughty

I drilled a pilot hole right on the corner edge of the metal and than ran a larger bit thru... Big enough to put in a large flat blade screwdriver and forcefully bend the 3rd pipe upwards out of the way so I could use my step drill bit.

With the step drill bit attached, I angled it towards the windscreen and began to drill. I kept going until I ran out of steps... Think mine goes up to 16mm

Then using a little bit of heat and yet more force, I pulled the outlet back down. Cleaned up the cut edges and called it good! :thumbs

I'm going to bring the extended diff breather from the rear and meet it up with these three chaps... Then plumb the lot into the snorkel.

Looking fantastic jay, lots of time effort and love going in to this truck, very nice.

Yeh looking good bud :thumb2

Was that third outlet connceted into anything? You've had me checking the patrol forums and I still can't confirm it - there's some say two of them combine and others say they don't

I went with the "combine" theory when extending my breathers but if they don't then I'll have to get the dremel out and cut the pipe in the engine and silicone on another extension up the side of the snorkel! (Don't like leaving a job half done)

Here's a view of the 3 breather tubes from inside the engine bay.

Yeh I know what that looks like bud :lol I meant once it passes through that rubber grommet. There's a school of thought that the transfer and gearbox combine on the other side before the go through to the outer section in the wheel arch.

Mine don't combine as I found out.

I wonder if there is no definitive answer because it could be one of those things that changed with model/year versions?

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

God saw that the light was good, and he noted that they were LED's. Crisp, Clear LED's. :D

The black detail on the display doesn't look clear on the picture, but I can assure you, that is my camera work! :doh

Those LED's give a real nice crisp fresh look to those buttons :)

Hmmm. Good point.

I'll think on it.

Worst comes to worst, I can always return it back to normal. (Maybe without the bloody Air Bag light :naughty)

1st job this evening was to lengthen the rear diff breather.
I decided to bring it all the way to the front and meet the three other breathers next to the Snorkel.

Next was to get the snorkel ready for the breathers.

Holes Drilled

Barbs added and siliconed in. (The one for the rear diff is smaller than the others.)

Before putting it back on the Patrol, I decided to add some 'waterproof' tape and some zip ties!

Next, Plumb her in! :thumb2

I'm pleased to say that all 4 wheels are back on Terra Firma and she feels great.

From the seat of my pants I can feel the difference now that the Patrol is breathing easier with the snorkel, new intercooler, blanked EGR's and cleaned out pipe work! :thumb2

I'm looking forward to playing with the boost very soon! :naughty

Nice looking build !

Nice thread I too would have been clenching when drilling the wing for the snorkel especially on such a solid looking wing!

Goes without saying that you have painted the cut edges to prevent rusting etc.

Aye, All sealed with a bit of clear coat. :thumb2
