Time to mount the antenna.

The hole was marked and drilled.

Then the surface mount was added.

Then a 4ft Firestik...

Then repeat for the other side for a cool looking Dual Antenna setup! :thumb2

Looking good bud! You got a good enough connection to the bare metal for those antennas?

I'd install a pair of spring mounts at the base of those Firestiks as well.
Not the quick release type but straight sprung unions to allow those rigid stiks to take a knock and bend a bit without damage. I'm glad I did.
All looking good, very Aussie. :thumb2

When I come to fine tuning the CB I think I may need to grind away a little bit of paint... We'll find out soon enough! :thumb2

I had thought about those springs... Good tip!

Thanks for the great comments... I'm very pleased with how she's looking so far! :D

Yeh I took my bar down to bare metal where the whips mounted :thumb2

And the post is in...

One fully welded and slightly larger Intercooler all the way from Oz!
One Dawes Valve all the way from the States! (dawes-devices.com - Free shipping!)
One Boost Gauge
And a Provent 200...

... Now all I need is a bunch of Silicon hoses!

Well done Jay, all the right gear for a good installation. Your Patrol will love you back for those upgrades, I promise!
I went for funky silicone hoses when I installed my Dawes valve, needle valve and boost gauge and found to my surprise that they are too soft and give too much for a proper pressure reading at the gauge end.
I opted for 1/8" high pressure water line instead ( the stuff that feeds a water supply on a freestanding fridge for example). It's thicker walled and stiffer and made all the difference.
It's the white tube in the pic, the blue is the pipe work to and from my Provent catch can just like yours!

Great tip on the water line... Thank You very much! :thumb2

I have a needle valve on the way too, but I've decided on an in cab one...

Yeah I had looked at going in-cab, but once i'd found the sweet setting for good acceleration, good spool rate and sensible EGTs I don't alter it so often now. It must be handy to make any adjustments on the hoof though.
Something to consider Jay.....
An EGT gauge will help you get a good balance between boost and temps at the turbo and getting your settings just right
Here's mine. British made and so accurate and responsive being digital rather than an analogue needle one....yep, just got into the motor and its 6 degrees at the turbo.

Just keep referring to those Aussie forums. Those guys are the gurus for the mods your doing.

There's no end once you get going! :lol

Do you have a link to that EGT gauge? I'm gonna run out of dash space! :doh

Had a short minute or so today to have a quick play with the Patrol...

Decided that I will move the Climate Control Unit down to where the cig lighter and Diff Lock switch lives and use that space for some gauges.

I've gone with a boost gauge in the middle and two voltmeters. (Left for Aux battery and right for the Cranking battery!)

I'm very pleased... Looks almost factory. :naughty

I just hope moving the CCU down a bit goes as well! :augie

Needle Valve arrived today... Will be going for an 'in cab' installation.

I have to ask, as a bear of little brain, a simple 'tractor driver'......why all the dials and blingy thingybobs......do they really make lot of difference, when you are crawling through c##p at walking pace.....and if you spend so much time watching and fiddling with 'stuff'......you may not be looking where you should.......:nenau
