I rescued the Traxide Split Charge System from my Land Rover...

This System keeps both batteries connected until the voltage drops to 12v, then it disconnects them.

Here's the technical stuff...

And here it is fitted!

It was a very similar battery setup on the Land Rover, so the cables are almost a perfect fit... the even clipped into some retaining clips on e fire wall! :naughty

Good start mate but just be careful on uneven ground, looks like you're playing with mm's there and I'd hate you to wreck those tyres or rip any trim off the motor :thumb2

Yeah, this was just a quick fix for my commute... I'll Be cutting some inner arch away the next time I get a chance! :thumb2

It's been slow going on this project for a while...

I eventually managed to get my shackles on the front and back bumpers.

And I decided to update the dreadful window washer jets to the newer fan or mist spray type.

Curiously these ones have a little 'G' on them, as in Patrol GR... A tenuous link! :nenau

These particular ones were a universal fit... Very easy to do. But, they are as rubbish as the original ones! :doh

I guess that's what you get when you pay £3.89!

These will be relegated to the front bumper for my headlights and maybe I'll invest a bit more money into the windscreen ones! (I wonder maybe if the pump needs to be a bit more powerful?)

Mods may have to go on hold for a bit longer, as I REALLY need to get to the bottom the Airbag Warning Light problem....

... And the new central locking problem!(

Bad luck mate, what's the crack with the central locking? Is it just totally non operational?

Not sure if the reset procedure is the same for the Patrol as the Terrano but if it is it's in the downloads :thumbs2

I have a similar issue with my airbag light it's come on twice now in 5 months, I've had it reset twice and it hasn't come back for a couple of weeks now but the garage said if it comes on again take it to nissan as it would take forever to fault find it. Its a side module issue but it doesn't say what side or where. I'm hoping it stays off till at least Tuesday as it's back for a re mot on Monday after they've fixed the failures

I'll check it out, thanks.

From day one, the remote fobs haven't worked... I've tried a few procedures to make it work, but with no luck. That, I could just about live with.

Now, sometimes it will lock, sometimes it wont. Sometimes it will unlock, sometimes it wont. Sometimes I can lock/unlock the driver or front passenger door and non of the others will lock/unlock!

If I unlock the drivers door, the others wont unlock until I've put the key in the ignition and turned it to on...

Then I can be driving along and at random intervals I can hear the doors locking and unlocking.

I have my fingers crossed fro you. :)

I will have to bite the bullet and head on to the dealers. :doh

What size are your tyres bud? Are you on standard rims or steels?

Just ask because I've never had an issue with clearance on my 33s even before removing the arch trims :nenau

I had a pug 306 that used to lock and unlock itself at random times. I eventually found the problem was a broken wire in the rubber sleeve from the door to the body.

With this and my airbag light, I think theres gonna be a whole bunch of wire wiggling going on! :(

They're 33's (285/75/16) mate.

I think the main source of this problem is that I dicided to fit them on a steel wheel with a Negative 35 offset.

Yeh could be it bud, although those do look a bit closer to the arch than my 33 muds (also 285/75/16)... odd one

Just shows no two trucks are the same!

Just some "Light" modification tonight...

Because I'm in favour of symmetry, I decided to change the rear fog light on the right (as you look at the picture) to a reverse light.

I'm going to add 2 LED fog lights into the bumper... When they turn up!

Smart!!!! Reminds me of when the lads that used to have Mk4 Bubble Fiesta's on UKFN (UK Fiesta Network) used to buy Polish rear light clusters or "Euro Clusters" as they refered to them as :clap

Indeed these are Euro Clusters... :thumb2

Much better (I think) than the dummy lights and all the working ones in the bumper!

I just much prefer 2 reverse light and 2 fogs! :D
