That sounds interesting Doug.
My drivers side headlight and fog have oxidised badly.

Wow thats a big difference ain't it eh :thumb2

Jay, I remember reading an article in a mag called classic motorcycle mechanics a few years back about a guy/company that sold kits for re plating chromed parts, it wasn't chrome they used though but it was a good finish, looked good and lasted well. I'll try and find some info for you, if you can seperate the reflectors it might be worth doing, I know they are plastic but I don't think thats a problem, as far as I can remember it's a cold process using milder chemicals tyan what is required for proper chrome.

Sounds interesting. :thumb2

I had a quick search, could not find the company I was on about but the kits I saw were about £140 and people got mixed results. I did however see some chrome type sprays which I'm gonna try and find out more about. My reflectors are still ok but are showing very early signs of dulling, I need to clean the inside of the headlights as when I fitted brighter bulbs they really showed how dirty they are in there. If I clean them and scratch up the reflector I'll obviously have to sort them.

Ooh, I was going to Raptor coat my existing ones, but they look good!!!
I like the screw indents too.
You just need a big cigar Groucho!

They come in two parts, one for the body, one for the door.

When you look at OEM ones, you can see the one on the body follows its line down under the one on the door.

These ones don't. :(

Just a little trim of the Lazy Susan Bearing and it fits nice and snug with no overhang at the back. :thumbs

When you mentioned your concern, I was wondering if it was something to do with that, as I couldn't see that detail on your picture.

Pop a rear section off Jay, and see what the metalwork is shaped like underneath.
They must of taken this into account in the design of the plastic shape.
Every model of Y61 ( apart from hybrids) has that bottom lip running under the door.
If you find that it fits, I'm deffo getting a set. The OEMs are rubbish where they want to pop off all the time.
I really like the pocket screw-ins that you've got.

I was having a look and thinking the same.

Fingers crossed I'll get it sorted soon, then I can send you the link of the place I got mine from. :thumbs

Even the expensive (Kut Snake - £799) ones come in the same shape as the ones I have... There's hope yet. :D

Just putting a few finishing touches on the Dash Pod before it's installed onto the dash.

I was looking at the cut out for the touch screen, and I thought it looked a little raggy.

So I decided to find the smallest rubber 'U' channel I could find and trim the edge.

Another test fit of the screen...

I think it looks ok. But just ok... Better than not having there I suppose. :nenau

Made the last push to get the 'Dash Pod' MK11 finished...

Here O'm marking up its final position.

Next, some funny angles on the drill!

No turning back now!

Securing the pod to the dash and feeding the HDMI lead and USB power for the screen.

All plugged in, I think it looks great! :thumbs

Doesn't look out of place from any angle!

That's commitment Jay, drilling holes in your dash, big holes.....and it's turned out spot on:clap

I need something like that in my life but until I can find a solution that allows me to even plug in and read at least fault codes then that idea is shelved.

That's some cracking work Jay, it looks awesome :clap
