Think I have now watched every video on the internet about Raptor Spray... And now I really think the whole Patrol should be covered!

I'm gonna do my bumpers and arches at the same time.
You can adjust the gun for fine through to course finish.
After a practice, a chum did the whole of the roof of his Defender hard shell roof tent, and it looked and felt really good and tough.:thumb2

I used to do speedliner which is very similar, i still have all the kit other than a big enough compressor

As in you used to sell it?

What does the kit consist of? (Same as the Raptor stuff I'd guess?)

Cool!

I think I'd be ok spraying. (Just Ok) But it's the prep I hate!

I've had them for quite some time now, but I've eventually got round to plumbing in my Dawes and Needle Valve.

I was going to set the Needle Valve up in the cab, but have now changed my mind and make it a 'set & forget' thing.

Here's the obligatory proof of my work...

That's my job for tomorrow... And maybe Good Friday if I get it off! :naughty

It is a Variable Turbo... The needle valve will now control spool up rate as the ECU solenoid has been bypassed.

You can do without the needle valve if you adjust the VNT actuator stop limiting screw.... But that looked a bit fiddly! :lol

I was going to have a play with my vw t4 van until it decided that water pumps and timing belts weren't fashionable anymore:doh, 2.5l 5cyl with vnt, I reckoned some manual control and a maf amp would have been perfect for it.

So no codes thrown up or any unusual running?

Nope, no codes.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to tell you how she drives tomorrow.

Lovely jubbly, on the vw I think you had to mess with something called an n75 valve and something else or the dash lit up like a christmas tree.

Don't get too carried away until you get that egt gauge in though, or you might end up with a skyline engine like mrK :lol

I believe a small adjustment of the VNT screw is required in any case, to compensate for the EGR blanking.
It's only three-quarters of a turn, but sets the platform for the introduction of the Dawes and needle valve.
I just followed Chaz Yellowfoots VNT instructions for mine, (the Aussie Dawes guru) and yep it was fiddley. I didn't even bother replacing the flaming circlip, bloody thing!:doh
