cheer for that pete n page 17 t says

friction in housing
medium possiblity smoke (which i have)
large possibilty noise (which i have)
medium possiblity loss in power (which i have)
the only other possiblity is
Carbon is accumulated

now if i wasnt getting enough boost then that wouldnt open the actuator which also a reason for loss of power and smoke but not rattle

just check the movement on the spindle and it seems like it would very nearly touch also on the outer edges some of the blades have nicks in them so could be that it has worn down

i dont really know about the innards of the turbo to be 100%

After taking much interest in this thread, I would definately be doing what ADZ says

Change oil, filter, and fuel filter, as it seems he has had plenty of experience in these matters and whats the point of changing a goosed turbo if the engines goosed as well, nobody as said for deffo that its just the turbo,

Only my personal thoughts, that dont count for much really :lol :lol

i will do but just trying to get to point befor i spend over £100 on a goosed engine with parts that cant be resold

altho oil isnt expensive i need to get the tools to change the filter and tighten it back up lol the current oil has only done 800 miles but i know it is the best thing to do but new oil in a goosed engine wont help much lol

id confirm that your turbo is fuffed , if not then i would suspect engine probs

Before you buy any bits and bobs , drain some or all of the sump oil and look for the oil slick effect of the water/oil mixing (or at least trying to) :thumb2

Youll soon spot if theres any water present and go forward from there.

right got the new turbo and the difference between the 2 are

lot less play in spindle and the spindle feels smooth to turn where as the old on was easier to turn but did have a little bit of resistance at 1 point the new one feels like the old one does at that 1 point :nenau

so fingers crossed found the problem :kissy:kissy:kissy

but it has started to rain the second it turned up :sly:sly:sly

so i have to go and pick up all the oil i need and the filters so hopefully it will have stoped raining by then;):thumbs:thumbs:thumbs
