now i let it warm up and their was still loads of smoke out the back end then i decided to let the airfilter out and then i heard a hissing sound

i have managed to twist the main breather arround so it wasnt releasing pressure

that done now i have full power back to normal :thumbs

and the knocking on he engine seems to have gone as well the car runs smother now :doh:doh:doh

but and their is a but it is still pushing out loads of smoke out the back but it is allowing full rev range now that it didnt befor

what can cause the smoke cant tell if it blue or not but it does smell a bit funny sort of like rubber

the engine starts straight away and ticks over happy with no vibration

Do a compression test on it. That'll tell you if the pistons and or valves are right.
There was a guy on here the other day with a rusty truck for cheap:sly

Don't rely to much on the compression test as it came out ok on Lynns Vitara :augie Me & me mate thought otherwise :naughty & the head gasket had gone

I reckon you may have done the valves :nenau

DON'T GO GREEN OVAL :doh THAT WILL SPEND MORE TIME IN THE GARAGE THAN THE MECHANICS :augie

Get another engine or keep it for spares for your next 1 :thumbs

Its a buying market time now with Christmas 7 weeks away :augie

did you drop the oil and change the fuel filter?
if you have id be tempted to give it a good thrape in the dark see if it clears:nenau

remember i know nuffin , but i would dare to suggest that a possible hydraulic lock has taken place and damage has occured to the valves as a minimum .... possibly bent con rods too ...... engines are cheap enough to aquire rather than throw all your hard work away .

regards

pete

ok now we are moving forward. so am i right in thinking it is better with the air box open and no filter. if so the intake is blocked .

going by what else you have told me you have a sticky valve. pop the rocker cover off and take a peek what is happening

How about i donate you a engine with a cracked cylinder head
Build 1 out of 2 :augie
Just a thought thanks to Briggie :thumbs

I did say change your oil & filters 1st :augie Would of saved you time & money :thumbs

honestly cant see the profit in changing engine oil until we know what is wrong.

if its un economical to repair why put 50.00 quids worth of oil in it.

it will be blockage to the air box or the same dirty muddy air filter - easy test remove air filter and run with air box open

if its still crap look at the valves

check for pressure in the oil or water - to see if head gasket gone .

all easy checks and free

engine would be good if his is terminal .... but i dont think it is . not at this point anyway. but could prove useful later if all else fails .

top bloke

right top one that man adz

right a bit better at this took it for a spin and low and behold no power again lol

makes no odds the air filter being on or off

rattle is back but starts at 1500rpm and continues up throught the range now if i dont put me foot down then its a diffrent story and slowly rise the revs then it wont rattle

smoke out the back is blue and smells like oil but the good news is that the smoke is a hell of a lot less than it was just a little bit now not a screen lol

By changing the oil (£20 from Halfords for there brand ) He'll see if thers water & or crap in it :thumbs

After all the punishment mines taken  :augie I don't think it's game over yet :thumbs

run out of oil ?

Now I've heard it on the phone i still think valves or maybe the big ends...

well it does sound like big ends i will try and et a vid done in a min

Big ends slapping about still doesnt explain the battleship smoke screen:augie
Hydroloc doda more than likely would have done in a piston or con rod. Piston issue or valves will contribute to smoke I guess:eek:

right here is the noise the wind noise is the fan lol
