Nice, I was looking on Suzs car at that bit of trim under the rear window, how easy was it to remove?

Same as everything else on it, a pain in the rs :lol I will take some pics of flip side tho and pos them up tmoro, a few bits broke off the back but thats jyst me being rough :doh

Top job there I reckon :clap
Mine are the same colour as your primer tin lid
Could do with some of that treatment.... one day:augie

Get 'em chromed fella, or gold plated :D seriously tho I was thinking of doin the badges in a copper colour or copper plate, shiny copper tho not green manky copper :lol

Looking good, bumper step next:doh

Ahhh no sadly, new bumper on the list Jim, sub frame on mine was bent out of shape by what was probably a wagon hitting it, repair was rubbish. I straightened the sub frame but the bumper still doesn't fit right and its really bugging me. I'm going to post on here for one when I have a bit of spare cash, face lift one with the different rear lights or I would just ask Rick, I think it was blocky that told me they are a different fitting :(

Pre facelift and face lift rear bumpers of that style look identical when on the vehicle, I used to have an 05 plate and it really didn't look any different. All I know for sure is that the rear lamps on the later must be thicker as the earlier stainless steel screws are too short. Pity nissan changed the screws from stainless to poorly painted steel on the later.

By the way whats the spot welds like on the inside of the tailgate? My t reg sqeaks like a family of mice in there. When I fixed my wifes up for mot thats next on the list to fix. Might get chance to spend some time on the mg then.

Yeah I wasn't looking forward to taking the lights out cos I thought the screws would break, they were a little stiff but came out.

IF!! I remember correctly :lol Ian (blocky10) bought some rear lower lights at wiltshire meet, they were from a pre facelift model and when he offered them up to his facelift 3.0 they were surprisingly different!!

I'm not sure what you mean with the spot welds, sometimes I can hear a squeaking in the cabin so you may have put me onto something there :thumb2

Yes they were different but when I took mine out the other day I noticed there's the option to move to different fixings,in the bumper, to allow for the slight difference in screw position. But I wanted to use the metal guards that I had with those clusters :( (chromed first obviously) :naughty

Err obviously :lol

Do you reckon I could get an older bumper then mate?, don't suppose you could pop one of the old lights in one of your holes could you, just to see if it fits?? Have I told you how great you are recently?? :kissy :D

Behind the inner trim of the tailgate there are somekind of strengthening panels with spot welds that break. There is a thread on here somewhere with photos.

The post is here... http://www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com/forum/showpost.php?p=199189&postcount=23

You have to look closely at the welds, as it does not always stand out, on Suz's car the only real clue was when you touched the very bottom spot weld, and it was razor sharp where it had snapped. Once I looked closely I could see the centre of the weld had a crack running right round it.

I've just read through that, very helpful thread and great pics from you Clive. I have a squeek but I suspect it is my roller parcel shelf and not rear door, however the rear door trim is off at the moment so I am going to have a good look, this forum is very special, I bet there is not another like it :thumb2:thumb2:D

It is... :bow

Give it a good look, like you I assumed the squeak on Suz's car was something in the boot, but when I took the rear trim off to sort out the PMR aerial, and had to pop out with the trim still off, I noticed the squeak was louder...

I don't flippin' believe it :eek::eek: two of the buggers had gone, I will post some pics up from photo bucket in a few mins, but I kid you not it took less time to do the repair than it has for me to upload the pics onto pb :lol

One of the broken welds

Some drilling, nine self tappers and a bit of paint later, voila :D

The spot weld was hardest to drill through as Clive said :thumb2

Ahhh, I was looking for more threaded studs... that's very helpful... I see a place for more LED's

Had a look at my wiper mech today to see where the play was coming from, had a look inside and then it all came flooding back, the bodge i did on it before it was even my truck :doh Long long ago under street light not far from me, on a cold and rainy night :lol

Plastic tray and two metal covers off

That's the one officer

Drilled a hole and stuck a nail through it

Should look like this

Can you sort me out with something pete?

Doug mine is knackered too, I've just half removed it all off the car and noticed that it's just the white plastic part on the drivers side that bolts on with 3 bolts has lots and lots of play!!!! The passengers side one is OK but I've also noticed that the drivers side is missing the metal plate I only have one on the passengers side

How does the white bit detach from the gold metal bar below? If I can seperate the 2 I will be able to do the job in situe without removing the entire assembly as you have done Dough as long as someone can get me parts? Madmark? CNCFabs? anyone else breaking that is reading?
