This turned out to be very interesting, not wanting the drips from the leaking roof on my new screed I pulled the ceiling down and fixed a temp off-cut of plasterboard to absorb the drips, but once exposed I stuck my hand in to see what sort of beam was in there as the box never looked straight, to my horror the box is empty, absolutely nothing to support the cavity wall above nor the ceiling/flat roof joists this side of the box, needless to say this will be ripped out and a beam inserted toot sweet next week, we have decided to renew the whole roof with a completely new structure approx 95 sq mtrs, more on that next week with pics of how it is now and you will see why we are going down this route

Thats quite a tight bend, all one piece too, I'm liking that :thumb2

Was the wood submerged for a period of time of sprayed or what Rick?

Just laid it on the floor and brushed water over it both sides for a couple of hours, was a little impatient and should have given it another couple of hours and more water but time is at a premium here and if you look close there is the beginning of a crack about the middle, but as it is the backing for what I would call rough joined zinc it will not be a problem, Rick

Got started on the new roof today, as you can see with so many junctions it is a nightmare to keep water tight, but the lads did well to get this far bearing in mind we did not get the timber till gone midday
