OK put a volt meter on the glow plug link wire and earth, then see if it reads 11 or so volts when you try to start, if it does read 11 volts then you have no fuel at the injectors, if no reading then glow plug relay, you can prove this by linking battery + to the glow plugs then try starting, Rick

we aren't talking about a dribble from the injectors ..... we are talking about a gushing of fuel under pressure from a cracked injector ryan .

Wasn't gushing out, war more a slower spray

Have you checked any earth leads you may have removed to paint your truck, I recon you will be breaking old Toby before to long and selling the parts, then you can play with your roller skate :augie

nope, i'd buy another Terrano any day, or a Y61

the hyundai is a cracking wee car, 50mpg+ you get with it, also will be very practical too with the tow bar and roof rails. ohh and split charge:D

Cant u just disconnect the wire from the injector pump stop solenoid n run a temporary feed straight from the battery? u shud even b able to hear it click as u connect it.
maybe u hav already tried it, i jus cant b bothered trawling thru all the posts tbh.

Have tried this, yes it clicked but made no difference

ohh well, my friend and i have found the cause of the non starting

the fuse for the engine management keeps blowing when the ignition is switched on, least a can narrow my search down now, somethings shorting somewere

Interesting  I wonder what it's managing :nenau
Let us know what you find at the end of it's wires :)

i thing it's possibly fuel.....or a basic form of ecu that runs all the temp sensors, fuel etc............no ides :lol

will let you know what i find, going out with a friend tonight so will probably be tomorrow when i investigate further

Some of the earlier vehicles had a simple ECU of sorts,. it was ONLY there to manage the EGR system. However, I would imagine the same fused supply is probably used for all of the engine electrics...

aye, it was a 15 Amp fuse that was in it so must be a few loads on that circuit...can't think of anything that's a high-ish amp around the engine

Ryan it may have been a 15 in it but what size should it be. :doh
It is not unheard of to up the fuse if it blows, may cure the problem short term:eek:
Also a good way to start a fire

Nissan specified a 15 Amp

You've got a faulty component somewhere then mate drawing too much current, you need to find out what goes through that fuse, make your way back to that component and test across it with a Multimeter to find the affected part
