ahh well, better try and get the piece of crap started:rolleyes:, still can't find the problem, defiantly engine management/electrical related but can't find the source of the problem:doh

Is it running yet ?

Any joy yet ?

I always go back to basics if a motor will not start after meddling with it.

Go back and check everything you moved when you did the engine bay re-furb.

I do not know a lot about diesels but I would work on the basis that if you have compression, fuel at the injectors and power at the glow plugs then it must at least fire and try to start.

The only two times I have had issues with my old Merc 250D and my Terrano was after replacing the fuel filters. You need to be sure the air is gone and there is fuel at the injectors themselves. I am assuming yours is not common rail so ignition issues are a red herring in a way because if the plugs heat up and diesel is going in it will fire.

Aye, still nothing. I think its its on the fuel side. Cheaked again. No fuel at the injectors. Glowplugs are ok tho.

Excellent :thumb2
Now go one stage back and check for fuel again. In fact , leave the injector loose as it'll help bleeding the system :thumbs

trying to think what electrical stuff controls the fuel except the shutoff....the shutoff is ok as ran that off a 2nd isolated battery

I can't see anything else stopping the fuel except the stop solenoid.

I'd be thinking about rigging up a small mini fuel tank in the engine bay.

I had a flat battery once and asked a customer if he would mind me using my jump leads. It wouldn't start at all. AA man came and still wouldn't start. So he cracked off one of the fuel rails under the I/C. Started first turn. I said how's that work then? He said "Cars innit.."

 yup

well, I've officially given up with it, theirs no way its running so am going to try and source another terrano for parts like the engine loom:down:had all the conectors out for cleaning, everythings as nissan intended

i'm wondering if the cuttoff id buggered.........but still clicks

Getting the fuel up

OK so it looks as if you have established there is no fuel at the injectors.
Now as previously advised work backwards.
Have you put a fuel filter in it recently could that be a problem some cheap ones like Boschi are crap ?
When you work the pump on the filter housing can you get fuel out of an injector union when you pump it or are you just relying on it being firm ?

Oh and is there enough fuel in it ? Rather than rely on the gauge put a gallon in it. Are you on diesel or some sort of veggy stuff ?

theirs no fuel at the injectors, i originally thought their was but it was just excess in the system , seems to stop as the injector pump

hmmm, just discovered London taxis don't malfunction like the Terrano....why? because their Nissan 2.7TD engines aren't controlled by loads of electrics and wiring......just the bare minimum of electrics and relays......
