I think it's sulking because he removed his man step

Ahaha spot on sir.

But yeah, serious update, I took the slave battery from work today unfortunately the terminals were the other way round so we struggled like fook, finally got the terminals connected after much swearing. And boom she fired right up :D

Took a few extra seconds where she had been flooded a little but cranking was perfect sounding.

Will be getting a heavy duty battery on super speedy delivery tomorrow at work. And strapping it to the back of my motorcycle after work to bring it back.

Too dangerous to drive with the battery like that as it was lying on its side (possible leak ect)

Sounds like good news.

Just out of interest does anyone else smear grease on the battery terminals? I do my old man taught me to do this as a teenager.

JUST LOOKED AT YOUR BRILLIANT VID WITH YOUR LIGHTS GOING OUT, YOU HAVE A BAD BATTERY OR MORE LIKELY A BAD BATTERY CABLE CONNECTION, GET HUNTING, CORRODED EARTH IS FIRST TO FIND, Rick

What did I say at post 36, Rick

:doh

The only thing i am still wondering is, what my battery just really shagged or was the car draining the battery? I suppose only time will tell. We did do a few battery tests but the technicians said this cannot always be taken as gospel.

They have seen 100% battery reading but battery is too shagged to start car :lol

So I will fit new battery tomorrow, use and abuse my terrano and report back in a week (or when it stops again) :lol

Tell them to get a decent discharge tester, not the stupid computerised gismos they are using now, Rick

+1 for copper grease

And yep, Rick called it first :clap

I see you a MOD now mate, well done, and keep this rowdy lot in order  but do tell me something as I have always used petrolium gelly on my terminals, is copper slip that much better? Rick

It's all good fun mate :) as Bat has already pointed out the forum almost runs itself, everyone is very friendly and well behaved.

It's just the odd thread move now and again and the odd workshop download to be added to the quock links :)

They did actually have some hydro somethingerrudder?

Removed the caps and measured the fluid and cells?? :nenau

They did this aswell as 2 different normal electrical checks

As the technician said it can still occasionally give a diff reading.

Example was a jag that had starting issues... Battery read 100% damn thing wouldn't turn over.

In reality (what I had at honda) a load test woulda done the job, they are familiar with the rod technique you mentioned to me, very old skool they said, but works :D and apparently drains the battery pretty harsh.

hi it doesn't matter who said it first it took a long time to sink in did it not :thumbs

just to add .... a battery may show correct voltage , but its ability to supply suffient current may be impaired .
