Got a new set of wheels off of our very own Pete Jones last week and took them into work for a bit of Elty magic.
Shotblasted and the bad corroded areas filled with weld and flushed back.
Acid etch primed, zinc rich powder coat primed, rubbed down to hide as many imperfections as possible then a black grey base, holographic black metaflake and clear lacquer powder coating to finish them off.

Can't really catch the effect of the metaflake on camera but it does look a bit posh

Very nice and all that, but is metal flake on the same list as chrome and side steps:hide:

Me not sure on the sparkly bits either, especially the pink ones:confused: Rick

I like the pink sparkly bits.:kissy:kissy
Its a rainbow effect when caught in the right light.
Just fancied something different.
Its done,i like it so its staying.
Might re lacquer the whole motor in it just for a laugh:lol

More bling for the new wheels.
Shiny screw in valves from the JDM garage.

Had a bit of time this afternoon so i cracked on with the tyre swap.

Also got an issue with air getting into the fuel system.
I fitted clear hose to and from the the filter and it seems that after a couple of hours I'm getting an air bubble in the lines.
All the fuel lines where replaced in August last year but i still worked my way from front to back checking all the hose connectors where tight.
No signs of any leaks or loose connections so something is failing and letting air into the system.
The prime suspect is the primer pump as i know a couple of terrano owners who have had the same issue.

Can see the air in hose after being stood for a couple of hours.

Mine makes a bubbling noise when it’s been parked up for a few hours is that the same thing that might be happening to yours

Couldn't hear anything but air is getting in somewhere.

That bubbling will likely be an air lock in the water system, I've had that before, run it around for a little bit with the radiator cap off, that's what cured it for me if it's that issue.

My money is this being the pump as my Maverick did this and would have been the next fix i'd have needed to do after I'd got back from my holiday on the Isle of Wight if that lorry driver hadn't ploughed into the back of me :lol

Couldn't see any signs of any leakage on the pump.
I had an issue with the water drain tap on the bottom of the filter when i first bought this motor 5 years ago.
Got a second hand one which cured it.
I opened it and drained a bit of fuel off just to check it was working and sealing and seemed ok.
I will get to the bottom of it.
I just check all the simple things first and tick them off the list:thumb2
