HI
I am planning a day out to view the heather in bloom

Heather blooms August/ September . I tend to avoid summer routes as they can very overgrown and scratchy.
Also people tend to be out with families walking and so on.
This could possibly be the itinerary
EASY MORNINGS LANING THEN A LIGHT SNACK AND COMFORT STOP AT EYAM AND A FEW MORE LANES AND THEN MAYBE A BBQ. ON THE MOORS.
yOU WILL NEED TO BRING YOUR OWN BBQ AND FOOD.
MAYBE AN EVENING DRIVE AS WELL (TEST YOUR ROOF LIGHTS OUT )
WATCH THE SUN GO DOWN FROM HOUNDKIRK MOORE.
The lanes wont be pre driven so may have to make some changes on the day.
But will be checked against (tro) closures .

SO BRING THE KIDS ALONG (dogs welcome. on lead please)

MAKE A FAMILY DAY OUT OF IT.
OR EVEN A WEEKEND AS THERE ARE CARAVAN SITES NEAR BY.

groups of 4 so group leaders required.

Derbyshire heather day no.3

thanks elton.
we need to be sorting out if people want to go have a look at stannage.
it will mean loosing some of the driving time and lanes
unless we split up and make up a group that want to go to stannage

I'll help out where i can :thumbs

& will have 4 waffel boards, rope etc if standards want to drive it :thumbs

:sly :naughty :D :augie :thumbs :lol

fuff that !!!!.... i aint getting my nice shiny truck dirty

More chance chance of dents than mud on the Stanage :lol
But
I can bring my club hammer & Grinder :naughty :doh :lol

what is stannage ??

what would a newbie end up doing ?? (probably roll it lol)

Do a Google or YouTube for Stannage Edge:thumb2

Jim

just did that and saw some landy's go through some pain lol

with a standard mav what are the chances of getting through with out any major damage to the underside

I've not done Stanage, ut take your time and you'll be fine:D Waffle boards can be used to bridge big holes or step up rocks etc:thumbs
I've driven mine over dirty great tree trunks with boards no worries , and often the LSD will get you over/through stuff that landies will get tangled up in:lol

i might be up for stannage then if people odnt mind towing me throught most of it lmao

Just bear in mind it is pretty ruddy lumpy, and even with everyones good will and guidance, you can still break things and then you're a liability:augie
If you're up for it then great :D but just remember the drive home :sly

very true (never even tried the 4wd out yet :augie )

lucky i do have roadside assistance as long as i can get back to the road

only about 27 miles from home as well

all being well i would be up for it but will have to see if the start of the day goes ok without any faults lol

would imagine stanage be final lane, so can opt out or in depending
on how confident feel (grown) over day.

btw still grovelling at work for a shift swap, so can attend.
