I just have an idea about buggering off into the wilds for a few months. Don't even know where yet..?

Something I'd love to do too. Will have to wait until the kids are old enough to look after themselves first though, then persuade the missus or leave her behind:lol:hide:

Ok guys, bad news.. This "Screen Mirroring" thing doesn't work. Oh dear, what a shame, how sad, never mind.

MemoryMaps works well though, I was just about to buy a map when I noticed the price.. I had to clean the leather again...

Here's where I am now... I have added Wind Deflectors, Bonnet Protector, Head Unit. I have removed Dirt, Grime, Old CD Changer. I have bought for the car a 10m recovery strap and D shackles, Tyre Repair Kit, Compressor, Trenching tool/Shovel, Nice New Car Smell, Dash Cam, First Aid Kit, Jump Leads, and a boot liner of sorts.

If you're only going 285 75 16 I wouldn't bother with 10j rims bud, 8j will be more than enough and 10j will probably be getting towards the max rim width for the tyres.

Also those Fedimas will be good offroad but will be noisy as hell onroad, how much driving you planning? :p

I wouldn't worry about a gas strut on the rear door tbh, get an extended bracket for the small door though, will let it open to just past 90° :thumb2

I'll have a look at 8" wheels - wil probably save me a bunch of cash, thanks mate :)

As for the Gas strut, I want that so the door doesn't close on my dogs going in or out. Some of the places I stop are at a bit of an angle, and the dogs are thick as a yard of lard!

I also had an idea for some low cost storage in the back while keeping space for my doggies. Basically a couple of fold down cage thingys which at the bottom will be on a simple loop hinge where the rear fold away seats bolt down, and then a simple hook like the hook for the same seats. I have been able to bung a load of stuff up behind those seats anyway. If I use the same space but without the seats in the way I could probably get enough beer/food for a good couple of weeks! Without the dogs I could still bung a fridge and a storage box in the back for more food and camping gear.

I'll get my half chewed crayons out and draw a piccie..

The advantages being..

1. I can bung the seats back in in minutes.
2. The dogs will fit with a load of stuff.
3. Cheap.

The big barn door should have a catch that you pull or push out to lock it open :thumb2
