Cos its not running. Im convinced its that pipe under the air con. It takes water from the block back to the rad- makes sense. The more you run the engine, the more the water circulates, the more it leaks!

actually clive mate , what you are saying makes perfect sense , cos sometimes when starting the belts used to squeal , and I assumed they just wanted tightening ...... makes sense now that it was coolant pouring on them :thumb2

yeah, ive done some reading, and its a common problem on those engine-well, its not even a major issue, just awkward to have to remove the AC and probably the alternator as well, to get to it!!

because it is difficult to get to, more the reason it hasn't been tightened before.

My rad hoses leaked once, they just needed a nip.
The hose distorts overtime, and at some point it will get hotter than normal and the pressure will test all the joints.
I hope it is this Pete.

from what I have read, the O rings do go over time, seems a common "problem". I read that you can do the job, just by removing the air con compressor, and moving the pipe back to get at the O ring and top clean where it sits. Replace the O ring, put it all back and hey presto, jobs a good un. That's pretty much what I read, and looking at Peters car the other day, im convinced this is the issue (99%).

I would make a large point of it to the garage when you take it in Peter...

just got my truck back :D , took it on the motorway and thrashed it a bit ( 85+ ) ..... purely for research you understand :augie , took it up some freaking big hills around here too , all seems ok , no overheating , temp stable , no leaks :thumb2:thumb2
