Ok so my sills are bubbling a bit but still seem solid (for now) so I'm going to give them a rub down and paint, what I'm most interested in is preservation, Ive got some zinc paint but is this OK for this job? or are there any really good products out there that i would be better off using...

Hello all, Im going to wire the new towbar and i was wondering if there if there is a suitable permanent live already in the rear loom for a bypass relay or if its just easier to run one from the battery with an inline fuse :nenau Cheers Chris.

I tow an ifor mini digger trailer which has a chain, looks factory fitted. Not putting the chain around the neck is a good idea mind, you dont want to be going down a duel carridge way and have your mini digger and trailer start to undertake you:eek: because the actual bolts have come away...

As in my previous post, if its the same as mine you just need to put a normally open switch between the green/red and the black wire on the small plug, you could even use scotch locks if you dont want to cut the original wiring.

Also ideal for seeing where you are and where you have been.:eek:

On my 52 reg its just a normally open contact across the green/red wire and black wire, does your switch light up as mine was solid plastic. By the way be carefull as mine wasnt actually double din it was about 98mm.

Is that the one on your truck or one youve got for sale? If your selling one, whats it like and how much are you after, though at that weight getting one all the way up here might be a bit pricey anyway.

Ive been looking at a few on flee bay, thats why i was wondering. There seems to be a few around though some look like two bits of box welded into a T which worry me a bit.

Does anyone know if terrano towbars are all the same fitting taking into account age, lwb/swb etc? :nenau

I think you would have to drill the roof for bars, i would like to do it myself but i know what you mean about it being a scary idea:eek:.

The manual says that the measurement from the lower arm pivot to the bottom of the steering stop (vertical) should be 31mm (32mm swb) once adjusted. Sounds like lots of people have adjusted these, is this measurement ideal in practice? as ill be checking mine soon.
